Jacana had a crack last year and good on them. They were talking up there hopes of staying in div1 and not dropping back down. They did have a plan but maybe underestimated div1 footy..

Now I kind of disagree re Craigieburn’s venture up to premier. They had a reasonable good side in 2016 and are in an area which should be playing premier footy. But they lost their way off field.
Surely they were better placed than Glenroy, with the amount of juniors at CB and having consistently had decent 17s and 19s Glenroy are doing better in premier 2018 than Craigieburn did in premier 2017 at this early stage..

However I do agree they have now got back on the right road with their youngsters and will challenge again this season in div1 by the looks. I wonder if there intentions are to try and go back up or stay down and build up another year? Interesting one!
Couldn't agree with you more Turbo (first time for everything ). The eagles handled the off-season badly failing to reappoint Budgen which led to uncertainty players leaving and eventually a president being let go for mismanagement. This year is a lot tighter and the eagles list is along way from 2016 but you'd hope theyve learnt from the past were they to go the distance.

Season back in full swing this weekend with 4 games on Saturday.

APW v Jacana - after all the talk coming out the Jags they have been a huge dissapointment. The jump from div 2 to div 1 looks to great and it won't get any easier this week. APW at home by 89 points. Young to kick another bag of 10.

Hillside V Westmeadows - a good clash coming up with Churcch to face his old club. A big week for Westmeadows so will be interesting to see how they come off it. For me Hillside to strong all over the ground at home to get up by 31 points

Tullamarine V Criagieburn - match of the round. Tullamarine getting the job done comfortably first 2 rounds and craigieburn slipped right under the radar and announced themselves as a definite challenger. Limbach and co to find it much harder this week against the best defence in the Comp, Tullamarine to prevail at home by 17 points

Taylors Lakes V Oak Park - Oak Park very disappointing on Anzac Day after leading by 5 goals to fade away without a Yelp. Lakes to get the W at home and send the oakers to 0-4 and finals all but gone already

When is the EDFL going to record all senior games? I think it’s a necessity that we move this way and put the costs onto the clubs, but they get access to the video. Surely the clubs will use it to review games and the league could get a good deal. Hopefully negotiate something better than the last deal offered up..

I see the NFL record all games and captured a nasty off the Ball incident..

It also opens up avenues for recruiters also, lots of good kids out there or mature age players for that fact who could play at a higher standard ?.

Westmeadows have picked up a new recruit, young Rhys Mutch , played in the TAC cup with Bendigo pioneers and is the younger brother of Kobe Mutch who was drafted by Essendon . Also great to see Swanny down at the junior training tonite

Wow what a game again both sides put on. A lot of good individual efforts number 6 and 25 for cragieburn played really great today and for tulla number 5 and 11 kept them in the game. Amazing efforts from both sides I still can't believe there was a comeback brilliant game to watch!

Yep it’s a great resource to have, each club gets a USB of the game almost immediately and the coaches can do whatever thy want with it.

Heard Craigieburn put the the cue in the rack a little early
Well done Tulla a great come from behind win
I think both sides will there about’s at the pointy end of the season

Looked like AW started slowly but eventually warmed up to it. They'll be in amongst it too I think.

Craigieburn Vs Airport West
Tullamarine Vs Hillside

Both great games looming next week

The way it's shaping up that is probably the top 4 playing each other next week.

Very impressed with the Tullamarine coach at 3/4 time. Interesting move throwing Steele forward, stayed really positive and gave the players some belief they could win it.

Some big margins in the other games I didn't expect. Lakes much better than everyone thought and oak park a lot worse

Agree Footyman Steele in the team of the year 2017 as a back man
Great coaching by DC to think outside the square
Great versatility across all lines though to be able to make these changes makes Tulla very unpredictable

I see #5 Damien Bugeja played for Craigieburn. Is that his first game since signing last season and doing a knee in a practice game. Wasn’t sure he was going to return but gee very handy recruit especially for div1. Hopefully he stays free of injuries and gets some match fitness.

He was very good Turbo. He was really giving Tulla some headaches early on. But in saying that so were most of the Craigieburn players when u look at the scores until 3/4 time.
