There is not a chance in hell they will be able to fit there best 22 under the points cap next year, not even close which was pretty much the case this year also. How are players that know they should be playing seniors going to deal with being rotated through the two’s? What happens come finals time. It’s bizarre to say the least. As for the salary cap well that’s another story.
It's not the worst situation to be in as a club if your high payed recruits are playing in the reserves. All the players that continue from last year will be 1 point less so that opens up a bit of a budget to add a few more players, and if that pushes some into the reserves that's a good thing as a club. Salary Cap is about $550 per player, surely EK bottom 5-8 players would be on a lot less than that.
15k sign on to one of their new recruits.
Are the these recruits being given jobs or something? What ROI are you wanting when giving a B-Grade Footballer $15k in Oct? I know numbers always get made up on here, and I don't believe 95% of the figures.

Where would EK be getting their money from?

What makes me laugh is that any club in EK's position would do exactly the same if they had the resources available.

That’s fine to say that if they can afford it , from what I hear and who I’ve spoken to is the club it’s self have no money and it’s getting dictated to and are just prepared to roll the dice and see what happens .
I just hope there is enough die hard EK people left to pick up the pieces if it falls over and not to be another club to fall over cause they had an ego to feed !

Homealone - EK has never been broke so not sure where you get your information from, admittedly the $ from new sponsors that Pat has sourced helps. We certainly arent on our knees without him (i,e Jacana Hadfield Keilor Park etc).

Lot of mis-information out there about EK. Lot of people outside the tent taking a lot of ill informed guesses of what’s happening inside the tent .Can assure you that those of us inside said tent, are very happy how things are going. How dare we try and improve our standing in EDFL land! The club has come a long in the last 8 years and if you’ve ever actually met EKs Pres you would know who runs the show. No doubt the coach has lifted our profile but he doesn’t run the joint.

Do you mean the bloke that can hardly scratch himself by 4.15 on a Saturday , that president .

There would be a no more committed person in local football than Geoff Nicholl. He and his whole family are what local footy is all about. Passionate, hardworking people that do so much to keep the Club moving forward on and off the field.

Geoff has been a part of the Club his whole life at every level from player in his day to junior coaching and now long standing President.

What has been your contribution to your club Mr. Potato Chops?

Easy to pot . Much, much harder to roll sleeves up and make a difference.
