Hillside great man?Expecting Tulla to go backward a bit. St Albans only won 5 games last year and I think the top Div 1 sides are more than capable of going with them.
Probably right.

Will need to improve dramatically on last season. A very ordinary Div 1 in the WRFL and they scraped into 3rd and out in straight sets.So who can take it up to Deer Park?
West Coburg building a handy list, can anyone else challenge?
Hillside great man?
Rupo, West Coburg, Roxy and Tulla will still go well. Think it will still be a great year in Div 1They've recruited to make the jump and have the junior strength, so yea.

The Glenroy shit show continues. 3 months to appoint a bloke that was an assistant to the dud they sacked.Haha, These names were mentioned about 3-4 weeks ago.
In other news Glenroy expected to announce a coach in the next day or 2, expect it to be former assistant coach Dean young. Taken them 3 months to get to this..
Epping haven’t announced any yet on Facebook?Westmeadows reserves team going to be in some strife next year since they’ve lost all their players too Epping
West coburg definitely building a very good list. I still have deer park and St. Albans ahead of them. Coming back from division 1 has to hold some weight.
Rupertswood the likely big improver.
Deer Park
St. Albans
West coburg
Rupertswood
Tulla & westy the biggest sliders. Haven’t seen much come in for either team and quite a few have gone out. I’m sure Mckernan hasn’t gone back to tulla either.
I don’t get the hype on Hillside ? If the socials are to go by Prestia is the only inclusion of note. Lots of players have turned down big money to play there.
KP and Glenroy in real trouble with two being relegated this year.
Lost a number of key players in the first final which crippled them, and the straw that broke the lions back 2nd final lost more players. Go across and follow the DP Facebook page so you can see the new recruits. See you all in 2023.Will need to improve dramatically on last season. No where near the powerhouse they were and will still be tight with points.
With their finances they will eventually win in Div 1, just don't think it will be a faint accomply. As for St Albans they have not made finals for years and have not been close to top 3.
The WRFL is miles behind the EDFL so we'll run Div1 clubs may be more competitive than many here think

Early Tips going to be great season and hard to get in the top 5, however I think the bottom 2 will be a long way offWest coburg definitely building a very good list. I still have deer park and St. Albans ahead of them. Coming back from division 1 has to hold some weight.

Fixtures out
Roxy been given good fixture.
HS & Rupo play same teams twice.
Roxy play same teams twice except get Glenroy & Tulla, whereas HS/Rupo get DP & St.Albans.
I’m hoping the league uses the 2 down regulation as a trial. So that maybe in the future the can adopt the VAFA method of 2 up and 2 downI think 2023 is going to be the most fascinating season in the history of div 1 you have 12 teams two new teams
deer park definitely will play finals going on the record for the last 10 years in wrfl we’re they been the best team for that time.
St. Albans might play finals I don’t know much about them.
I think there is about 8 teams that can play finals.
west coburg
deer park
ruppo
hillside
St. Albans
tulla
Roxy
westy
and the fight to stay in div 1 is going be fascinating to see who of the last 4 teams can stay up.

Dean Young is excited about the future at Glenroy.
Less than 48 hours after he was announced as the Essendon District Football League club’s new coach, Young is already hitting back at the critics ahead of the 2023 season.
As the Roys hunt for Ross Terranova’s replacement continued over a prolonged period, rumours swirled about the club’s lack of numbers at training.
But Young has been front and centre of pre-season training, running sessions before he was officially appointed into the role.
“It’s all rubbish, we’re travelling really well,” he said in response to the rumours.
“At this time of year a lot of guys are caught up at work and footy isn’t their main priority. It’s a similar situation at all clubs.
“The club is in a good position at the moment. Yes, we’ve lost some players, but we’ve got guys who are going to step up and fill those roles.
“We’re still talking to a few players as well, there’s a lot of time between now and the start of the season. Next year is a good opportunity for the club to reset without the interruptions and challenges we’ve had in the past couple of years.
“Training has been fantastic so far, there’s a really good feeling around the place heading into Christmas.
“We’re going to be more than competitive next season.”
The Roys will play in the new look Division 1 next season with 12 teams set to battle it out after Deer Park and St Albans made the move to the EDFL.
Glenroy was relegated from the competition’s top tier with just one win to its name during the 2022 season which was cruelled by injury,
But in one of the most important moves yet, the Roys announced the re-signing of captain Tanner Nilsson earlier this year.
“It’s really important to get Tanner re-signed but he’s not the only one,” Young said.
Young says he is “almost part of the furniture” at Glenroy having spent almost 15 years of his playing career with the club.
Since retiring he has coached junior footy and spent five years as a senior assistant.
Three of those were with the Sunbury Kangaroos and the last two at Glenroy.
“I always wanted to be a senior coach and now I’ve got a fantastic opportunity,” he said.
“I’m thankful to the club for giving me this chance.”
Glenroy faces an interesting test in Round 1 against St Albans
Good on him"New Glenroy Football Club coach Dean Young has hit back at doubters declaring the club is “travelling really well” as they prepare to hit the reset button in 2023."
