Define A grade club. EDFL does not have a definition.
To be A grade do you need to not worry about salary cap, make promises you cant keep or have the ability to poach young players from other Clubs within your competition or have 3 to 4 teams in under age groups when others cant get one team or more importantly dont share a vision for a successful COMPETITION? . Players , supporters ,sponsors ,volunteers and kids will drop off Clubs eventually as there is little light ahead if everyone needs to aspire to be an A grade Club. When that happens who will A grade Clubs play?
What i mean by that is they're not a club whos senior side is sustainable in premier division.

Hence why I mentioned their results/ladder finish from 2015-18.

Is it not sustainable for all the reasons l mentioned,? You do understand that results are only one indicator of a Clubs success.

Reasons ?
Recruited multiple Divison 1 NFNL players. Including a captain and multiple team of the year player. Also some good recruits from a strong country comp. Plus you’d think there young players will again improve. They weren’t far off last year before all hell broke loose. Surely with these players they will improve significantly wouldnt they?

interesting thoughts on Avondale doing the double relegation

Are they really going to be that bad? I thought they’d probably be mid table in divvy one

From what I know a few of them are pretty good. I don’t know a lot of them either to be fair, just what I’ve read.

Does anyone know if Short will be cleared?

Oak Park picked up well enough they are on top? West Coburg beat them by nearly 100.
Might be a stretch top position, definitely have the talls, do they have the mid depth.

I do have West Coburg 2nd not underestimating them. Losing 3 top forwards has to reduce scoring power & bring them back in winning margins.

I'd say they have some good depth in Midfield, Errol and Dalrymple will both spend some time there so they have improved on that, expecting a massive year from Pascu as well but honestly, West Coburg and Marby were a league above them last year.

The gap will 100% close but you have to go with teams who already have the runs on the board pre season personally.

Avondale the great unknown as it stands, think you can get a decent gauge on everyone else.

Hey Auck, why are you and others predicting Hillside to be top? Just wondering on reasons as they haven’t recruited anyone of note as of yet.. They require a key defender or someone who can patrol the defensive 6. Plus probably a big bodied mid with previous AFL/VFL experience.
They have enough pace though the middle and enough forward of the ball especially with Covelli.

I think there will be a gap between the top 5 and bottom 5, and both groups could land in any order at seasons end. Maybe comes down to luck with injuries.
