Two outstanding players lost to serious injury will test the depth at Westy over the remainder of the season.

2"s playing coach nick county was hit behind ball on saturday and is still in hospital with a broken jaw was a horrible incident as nick is very well known by alot of people and you would not hear a bad word about him all the best with the recovery

this sort of thing seems to be happening alot this season, i hope the edfl will deal with this accordingly and i wish nick a speedy recovery so he can get back to playing good footy again..

Does anyone know/can explain how C Grade will work? My boy plays for a club that seems to fall into the unlucky/lucky (depending what club your from) category. Has the league put out any info about after the cut off? How many rounds are there? Will there be finals? Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure how many more rounds there will be, but I'm positive there is finals and a flag, but no promotion back into Div 1.

The winner of Div 2 in 2013 gets promoted into Div 1 for 2014. It's going to be a long haul back.

This is correct. Will be a tough road for the unlucky 6.

All the below will play 18 rounds in 2012
Div-1 (B Grade) 8 Teams after round 13 will play a final 4 Winner of GF to Prem Div ( A-Grade)
Div-2 (C Grade) 6 Teams after R-13 (At this point maybe more in 2013?? stay tuned) Final 4 winner of GF stays in Div-2 (C Grade until winns GF Div 2 in 2013)
Not sure of the actual who plays who in the either final 4 series (Can somebody help??)

Thanks AuckMel and retired! I just heard that C-Grade didnt have finals, which would be disappointing to the players in teams who are a chance of qualifying in finals in B Grade and may not get a chance to play in C Grade.

For some clubs like Jacana to play a final will be positive, or Hillside to win their first senior premiership will be a positive outcome. But when you look at a club like East Keilor who were an A Grade club not too long ago, it will be disasterous

Well, truth is, EK in Div 2 is pretty dumb anyway.

Having 8 teams in Div-2 2012 meams that the age old issue of who will play who 3 times per season will shape the win loss of teams thus some teams have an easy run and make final. Less than desirable for your second tier compitition. We are not sure if we are to play 17 or 18 round in 2013 and are we to have a final 4?
Having 6 teams in Div-3 same situation only worse as some teams will play each other 4 times in home & away season. This situation is less desirable than Div-2 and will leave clubs wondering are they playing in a Mickey Mouse competition or a real compitition?
Yes 1 team is almost certain to come in from the WRFL provided the EDFL clubs agree as their is some issues with overlapping boundaries to existing EDFL clubs and also needs AFL endorsement that may be an issue. The team mentioned does not have juniors currently.
The EDFL needs to look at their policy of only accepting teams that HAVE or WILL HAVE juniors attatched to them before they are accepted into EDFL other wise we will have for years to come a 8 & 6 team comps. The so called groth clubs are multi years long way away from having senior teams so we can not rely on this method now we have 6 & 8 team comps.
Needs to be looked at in depth ASAP as way to much uncertainity causes rumors that will in turn hurt the Div-1 & 2 clubs and the EDFL itself.

East Sunbury would be in Div 2 in 2013 if it happens, 7 clubs in Div 2 , isnt there existing EDFL clubs without a full list of juniors at the moment? Tulla no U18.5, KP & Jacana juniors not sure about, but if the EDFL policy is to have a complete range of junior teams, whats happening at the moment sort of contradicts their own rules

Westmeadows v East Keilor -This is the last chance dance, EK MUST win to keep their hopes alive of staying in Div1. Considering EK play AW last round. This is a Do or Die game for East Keilor although it might already be too late
Hillside v Moonee Valley - Hillside could be 9th on ladder next week

Taylors Lakes v Glenroy - Will be a top game, either team could win this one

Was talking to a few people from coburg districts recently... They were adamant they will be playing in the edfl next year


Is being reported on the NFL board that thomastown want to come over to the edfl also... Doubt it's true though
