Raff is a very good player and South Morang have done well he will destroy that division. Clubs must spew when blokes do this to them. Goes to show contacts aint worth the paper they are written on apart from blokes who are decent people and commit. My mail is Matt Patane also signed with Raff so 1 would assume the Sharks have lost their 2 new recruits before pre season starts. What is your mail Turbo? Will Patane make the trek to South Morang with his besty? I would expect so

Tough for Hadfield who will be very short priced for the drop to div 2.

Time for 2017 threads I think too.

Haha good luck to Avondale Heights with their new assistant coach. Give him till round 5 before he gets the ass or upsets someone so much to make them leave

There's three brothers marazan marwan and dougy

I heard it was marzan

Could be both as Marwan on the move as well. Talking to some clubs but my mail is his asking a high price is way over his market value. Will be interested to see which club takes him, as paying certain players "overs" can cause internal issues during the season. He can play though but is more a hard bodied inside mid and you can't carry to many of these types as you need a mix of inside and outside speed.
If it's Marwan going to West then you can't play Marwan & JT both in the middle at the same time as you will need some speed. Will they rotate on & off the bench maybe? Either way Westy again spending on mature aged recruits "but" have they recruited the right type of players to get them a premiership?? Time will tell!

Turbo, from what I'm told they were talking to Marwan but as you said asking a high price so went after JT instead who also had Sutcliffe going with him.
Both are only late 20s and have also picked up flower who is only 19 , Sharman who is 18 and Drummond who is maybe 22-23. So I would say they also have a focus on youth. With the 5-6 under 18 kids that played seniors this year I'd say the balance is pretty good

Fair points you have presented backtothefuture. Sutcliffe goes well and I think JT is a better option than Marwan. Also did JT play juniors at West? If not he will carry maximum points as 5th club in 5 years. Great to see they will continue playing younger types. I'm not convinced on Drummond. Very overrated has keeps moving clubs to often for a younger type player. If he was any good he would be playing premier each year. Only my views mate..

Yes, JT is a former junior.

Drummond I believe has been at west coburg his whole senior life so not sure we are talking about the same player.

No news is good news
dominic micallef who played almost half the year in the seniors at tulla and has brought along best mate nick bailey who played seniors at northern saints this year, also a craigieburn junior. 2 handy recruits who could help in tulla's bid for that elusive premiership

I reckon Airport west Hillside Westy glenroy top 4 at this stage with recruiting and also gotta give the team dropping down respect.

Think it's time for a Hillside or West Meadows to have a serious crack at winning promotion. Look to both have have decent junior programs with Hillsides been prominent for a number of years. Question is does either club have the budget of 250k??

I'm not convinced Glenroy are ready and would have learnt they need to be otherwise it "can" set you back years. On this basis I also think it would be a huge mistake for APW to go back up to premier in 2018 if they happen to win it.

I also wouldn't count out Oak Park and From the outside looks like East Keilor will make a significant move. Great coaching appointments at EK will set them up well going forward.

Taylor's Lakes seem to be just staying above water, Hadfield will struggle as predicted.

Tulla the unknown but appear to be jogging on the spot each season and staying competitive, the question is for how long. Seem to generate good cash flow but without junior talent coming through will always be up against it. Now harder with neighbors APW and EK back in b grade.

Good luck to all clubs in silly season..

Unfortunately for Tulla the dam wall will break eventually and the juniors will be their Achilles heel. They have had the same senior core for a long time, and now with with guys like Col Laurie retiring I just think it's a matter of when, not if, that Tulla start to slide.

Turbo good points, but my previous post was Just my personal top 4 next year. Glenroy seem to have recruited well and 'should' play finals, would be a failure if they Dont. I think hillside is the best prepared to go up. And are loading up to try and gain promotion.Westy are recruiting well and I haven't had heard too much involving tulla so my opinion is they may slide, as for oak park could go either way.
Airport west may not be ready but I think they will play finals.

No disrespect intended but I really hope for Tulla's sake you are not relying on those 2 to push you into premier let alone make an impact in this division. Micaleff will play seniors but is very light on and gets pushed around, but a clever young player. Bailey will struggle to get a game

Is this Groundhog Day every year on this forum? Every year Tulla are going to slide, haven't picked up anyone and will struggle to make finals. Yet every year they make finals. On the flip side Glenroy and Westmeadows seem to always recruit well and are big things for the upcoming season. Once this actually happens then believe the hype.

Gonna be a very even competition this season with the exception of Hadfield unfortunately who will really struggle.
Looking forward to seeing how Airport west go back in Bgrade.
My very early pick would be Sydenham with oak park as the surprise packet.

Don't forget hillside they normally have 1 hand on the cup this time of year

Agreed no real stand outs at this time of year with big name recruits etc
Westy will have to be there abouts again, had some big injuries last year, Mullins apparently made up with the coach and is staying although not confirmed yet

Tulla have 5 retirements but not willing to say they'll drop off as they just seem to get the job done

APW are pretty unknown, weren't to competitive in premier so reckon they'll be mid way

Hillside, signed a few Haddy blokes then did the backflip, aloi is getting on but is still smart enough to be a great pick up

Roy's, I thought were going to be the big movers last year and made a fool of me, again a couple young blokes, capuano should be a good offset to winter but not convinced on him yet, ferrero will be handy

Cracker even year I reckon

Mullen confirmed is back playing at Westmeadows next year. Should be strengthened also by the return of Church , Avery and Aldridge from long term injures.
