You want everything for nothing.

Took the 2 kids on sunday for free and they had a ball. Great day out for $20 and they got show bags and want to go again this week. We pay nothing all season and are spoilt to be able to watch a very good competition.

Its cheaper than a packet of smokes FFS
Not sure about the $2.50 dimmies but $20 for 3 games is good value even 2 games for $20

Food van pricing of food is a disgrace at Windy Hill. Absolutely disgusting.
Pototoe cake - $2
Dim Sim - $2 * OTB was charged $2:50 so maybe the prices go up for the GF.
Soft drink cans - $3:50

The other week I bought some food on the way out after the game. The lady who served me asked if they are cheaper as it's the end of the day and they were closing up soon and the person in charge said NO charge full prices. Best take your own food or eat in social club first. Ripping off people and kids is disgusting..

When is the last time you went to the MCG, ETIHAD or Rod Laver Arena.

People are happy to pay $12 for a stubbie of beer at a nightclub but complain about a $2 dim sim.

Cmon Two Planks, surely your not comparing run down Windy Hill to the MCG, ETIHAD etc. Plus your watching the best standard of footy, soccer etc. We are at the local footy..

And which niteclubs are you going to that charge you $12 a stubbie?? I have paid $9 for a Corona in a pub lately which I found to be ridiculous, but understood I was in a club.

I'm ok with paying $20 entry, as someone stated you watch footy during the year for free.

On the food issue, I think a great idea would be to allow 1 club per finals game to run a BBQ (or 2) at Windy Hill to raise some money. Rotate it around all the clubs. Thoughts??
At least if I got a snag for $2 or a burger for $5 I would be satisfied. Lol

I also like the idea of creating a drinking area, maybe over in the pocket grass area near the gym, where you can have a beer or 2. Rope or mark the area off and alcohol must only be consumed in that area. Thoughts?? Could spell trouble I guess and kids do use this area to run around and kick a footy. Another position would be in the opposite pocket over near the visitors bench..

Not sure you would be allowed to sell beer as the social club have the rights at the ground. So you would have to compenstate them in some way

Love the idea turbo.. I'm from the WRFL and have noticed that for at least the last 3 years Altona have had their tent sent up at all the division one finals for at least the last 3 years. having a BBQ and beers and even did it for the div 2 grand final at Williamstown on Sunday and I believe they do take all the takings, obviously would be good to rotate it so clubs can make some money.

Some big changes are happening down @ windside after the behavior of some people down that way in recent times

Question for the Glenroy faithful who I know read big footy.

Glenroy played the GF with max 48/48 points compared to APW who played with 38/48. So with the possibility of points dropping to 45 for season 2018 how will Glenroy be competitive in premier league? Even if Winter and a couple of others depart as we expect they won't have much room for recruits. Going to be a huge battle for them.
They will need a gun ruckman, midfielder, key back and forward. Current lot go ok but to be competitive in premier they will need 6-9 players and it's not possible under the current points system. They will get a pass mark next season if the can avoid relegation.
Craigieburn of 16 and EDS of 15 would have beat Glenroy by over 10goals IMO. But it depends on who they can hold and then recruit in the off season as the end result of 17 was the same as the other 2 clubs..

Question 2 / Who at Glenroy has previous connections with a top level A grade club in a league? That might also be a concern as most recent recruits (outside Winter) have been recruiting from B or C grade clubs.

Now I must congratulate Glenroy on the master stroke by recruiting Winter last season. I wasn't there but it seems he was the difference. Had enough of premier league but still a class above div1 when firing. They got reward for their money.. Well done.

Just goes to show to have any chance of winning div1 you must have some experience players in key spots. APW had a few and McGrath was another who can take the younger players along with him.
Maybe it's time to give promoted clubs, say 55 or 56 points so they can try and be competitive. Otherwise we will see clubs continually win flags and get flogged the following year.

Yep they should I agree, but the bigger clubs who dictate to the league won't like it. They said it will be even points so it won't change buddy..

I guess clubs intending to have a crack at winning promotion MUST recruit players willing to go up and be more than capable of holding their own, not recruit for a premiership only as it's going to fail. Let's see how the Glenroy team shapes up for next year as I think their problem was they recruited a lot from the lower divisions who actually did compete very well but will they take on the challenge of playing premier and does Terra have the contacts to go after quality A graders?? Time will tell I guess..

As I previously mentioned there side was no where as strong as the previous 2 division 1 promote clubs however they would have spent way less than the other 2.

A few clubs have looked to sharpen with a couple of handy pick ups... As season finished silly season quickly rolls around. I've never understood though how clubs can advertise new pick ups when clearances haven't gone through? Be interesting to see how everything unfolds

Most likely un-contracted players who are free to move clubs.

Winter heading to East Keilor.. Great pick up for them. However with Grigg they will need to ensure they have some hit up forwards and leg speed as both Winter & Grigg a bit slow these days..

East Keilor have confirmed the signings of Matt Knight, Tom Gleeson (both Strathmore) and Michael Licciardo (Melton) tonight.

Most certainly Danger seems Ash and the EK footy club are building a retirement village for former SM guns Lol all quality those boys in Div 1 good luck to them

Then what happens if they win the flag and get promoted? All those players leave and the club goes backwards at a rate of knots. Eg Craigieburn & NS
