why do we even bother talking about airport west??? yes they might have a good forward line, they might kick 20 goals a game BUT they will concede 30!!!! no defenders what so ever. with the forward line pacco has they will tear them to shreds

Agree pacco will be unbeatable......we are aiming for second!!

agreed fully. avondale will be close to the top 4 but will struggle to break in to it. number 11 is nick grant also a very talented lad rhys magin was number 17 but just consider heights had 3 under 18s playing and many reserve players that would not play in the starting 21 usually we were missing 4-5 quality firsts players and sutcliffe who had a brilliant 1st half was rested most of the second half as there was no need to risk him also at half time we lost one of our new recruits who is very talented to back soreness and also our captain from last year fab mastro

p.s no chance balraj kicked 3 rock ur kidding urself

Your right mate my mistake , balraj didn't even play.

Wake up to yourself goose, just love how you like to pot a name player. Jealousy is a very big sign of a weak individual. For the record he kicked 3 goals and give 2 or 3 off, after working nite shift all nite and was going on a holiday so hardly his number 1 priority. We also had a number of players missing and no ruckmen, early in the last quarter it was 4 goals difference, from my point of view we gave the game a fair crack but lacked a little with our skills. I actually thought you would have been better than that. Sutcliffe was your best player although agree magin and johnson were also very good. You will need to improve alot on that effort to be up challenging for the finals or at least improving on last year.

Interesting comment!

Why did he bother playing then?

Don't think it's very interesting at all, he played to have a run with his new team mates, he will also be missing the next few weeks, so important he got some match practice.
What would you have advised to do with your expert opinion??

I think puff got you there Rock - he has a fair point.

Don't think playing a game to "have a run with your new team mates" is all that important in mid march if you're as big name recruit??

You tend to have more chance to do that on the training track??

In saying that both Rock & Singh battled at that level of footy but showed enough to cause some headaches to B Grade opposition. Both will probably kick there 8-10 against average sides to give them 60-80 goals.

I thought APW were actually impressive and as mentioned with sharper skills into the forwards they may have been a little closer.

Rock would agree that as a Full forward it's a lot easier to take marks out in front than over your head or at the feet???

Good luck to both sides in both comps.

By the way Number 8 for AH is a star.....was easily the best player on the ground til half time!

Please give me a spell....Battled???
We kicked 7 of 9 between us or something and you have said our disposal was poor...you got yourself there. Your opinion so keep at it but make up your mind if we battled or we got poor delivery.

Don't think you can have a proper game at training either...but you may do things different on your planet!

Apologies there Rock, battled probably harsh considering I only watched the first half. (and in that half Rock you battled??)

If the both of you almost kicked your score that's a fair effort - well done!

Not individual disposal Rock, team disposal into the forward line. As I said you both will be extremely hard to match up on for opposition defenders.

It will at least release the best player in your side - Pappa who looked a little uninterested at times which is unlike him??

Can we stop talking about this PRACTISE match and talk about what else is happening at and aroundd all clubs.

Does anyone know of any praccy matches this weekend?
avondale have a week off but the vs hoppers crossing week after and then the legends game come down to AHFC to see two AFL legends captain opposing sides Matthew Lloyd vs Chris Johnson it is two teams full of avondale legends also jason singh from taxiride will be singing prior to the match get down to canning st res for a great game

One thing you can be sure of is that you will get a true assessment from Rock on how himself and the team perform on any given week. That's 1 thing we're trying to bring to the club this year, all people to be honest with themselves and take responsibility for what they do and don't do on the field each week. If everyone does this, I'm sure we'll be fine!!

Well we're obviously all a bit starved of footy aren't we with a record number of posts regarding a praccy match!!!!
It's gonna be a long year if you're gonna defend every comment made on here Rock07, but that's up to you I guess.
I don't know how we can assess either AH or APW after that game??? I'm pretty sure EVERY team in A grade is well and truly stronger than what APW are gonna be this year so AH drawing a formline against a team that is a bit of an unknown quantity in B grade would be misleading I would think....
For APW it is probably a bit more of a guide though, given they apparently hung with AH for a fair portion of the game which should be a positive sign for them....
We clearly need more to talk about!!!:D

GLENROY VS CRAGIEBURN tomorrow at highgate reserve...wil be an interesting one seeing as cburn struggled last week .glenroy going into the game with no jefferis/haddad/greane/cambell/pitts/monco/dulic/oneil/baker

number 8 is brad sutcliffe played VFL for port melbourne for 2-3 seasons and decided to join matt pearce at avondale last year and was retained by the club this year he was very close to being rookie listed by richmond back in 2003 but was considered to light a frame for AFL

Some interesting outs there Boy. Whats the reason behind Dulic and Monaco?

Dulic is in a cricket grand final along with pitts, campbell, greane, and monoco working roys should still have competitive team out should be a good hit out for the boys on big ground get some match fitness

That's just me talking to much...and i always like to have the last say, all in fun.
I think the talk on this game just stems from being the only edfl praccy game so far,it will all change as everyone else starts to play, so don't fret just yet and at least we are talking footy.

Could go back to guessing how much each club spends on players i spose:p
In all seriousness not long now until what should be an interesting year in the EDFL. Any news on other praccy games?

watched glenroy vs cburn today at highgate reserve cragieburn ended up winning by about 6 goals but was a pretty competetive game glenroy look much more improved from last season and still had about 8 out craigieburn were a bit rusty early but looked good once they got going and had a few younger blokes in the side who all played very well. as for glenroy hillsdon/ carruthers/ ronaldson were all better players buckets caulfield kicked 3 on his return and sighns looked very promising ex afl listed player aaron kite had a first qauter to remember kicking 4 goals in the first but was very well held after that i think it was a good hit out for both sides glenroy will be very solid at full strength and would think a top 4 spot would be wat there aiming for as for cburn i think they will be mid field in Agrade but have a lot of upside n a lot to build on

Tulla beat Parkside (WRFL) by 15 goals. :thumbsu:

APW had a solid 5 goal win over Upper Ferntree Gully, I believe it's the first time we have knocked them off in 3 or 4 attempts. A good win especially with a few key players missing and our "DUMB" full forward getting sent off half way through the second quarter.
Still need to improve our goal kicking and probably our foot skills all around the ground but we are definately on the right path.

Any other praccy results?? Marby V Albion?
