Playing 8-10 games minimum against the top sides for no "coin".......is there any clubs out there with ex AFL players on there list getting less than 800 a game - you can throw Misiti in there as well????

Handy pick up for the club and the young blokes walk a bit taller when they are on the track....has kept a few at the club as well!!

Not a quick fix to get back to A Grade, two blokes don't make a side but an incentive for more support around the place after the last two dismal years....:thumbsu:

greenvale has 3. Paxman, Sir and Hassell.

Heard a rumour that Mat Towner's brother Sean is going to Marby Park to play as well, anyone heard this? What's he like?

Just heard this one don't know how true Brad Lloyd leaving Avondale to take up a recruiting role with the Freo dockers

100% fact, however role based in melb so may not effect his local commitments!

The freemantle football club is pleased to announce the appointment of Brad Lloyd to the new position of National Recruiting Manager.

The role will be based in Melbourne and report directly to Chris Bond, General Manager – List Development.

One would think unless Freo are just looking to recruit from the edfl he might be off looking at other games most saturday afternoons.

Just quickly guys as i dont know the guy but is he involved in the footy scene in some shape or form other than playing it or being the brother of a champion? cause it would seem you would have to know the ropes of junior footy pretty well to be given a chance at a job like that!!! id say there would be a heap of pressure on him... just asking any how.

He played in the AFL for Hawthorn and is a player manager for IMG or one of the big player agent companies. I would say he would have a fair idea Mr C.

Mercuri was training at Keilor Park last night and that is a definite!!! He is looking forward to a big year at KP with his mates where he belongs.... Probably will be the best recruit in the Comp!! Dont know how many other runner up in the Brownlow and Dual premiership players their are playing B grade footy this year???

KP will be very competitive especially if his old mate Misiti joins him back on the field! He also has trained and if new job and family commitments allow him, he will also be back playing at KP.

These will leave a massive hole in the dance floor at boutique.

General / PKing If I can just clear up 1 thing about Liam. He is no longer a required player at Westmeadows. While I am not in the inner sanctum at the club I am close enough to those who are to know this is the case.

The relevance of this fact may be mute, as General has indicated they were never going to clear him, however the club's (Westmeadows) decision not to pursue Liam was based more on his poor attitude to training and his general approach. An approach Westmeadows felt was not up to the standards the club had set for their players. If his approach is in line with the expectation Douta Stars have on their players then I believe it will be a long year at Buckley Park.

Westmeadows dissapointment in the early discussions regarding Liam were based around the fact that Liam was released to Douta Stars while contracted to Westmeadows in "Good Faith" on the premise that the favour would be returned should Liam wish to return. They failed to live up to their end of the bargin which is dissapointing.

Lesson's learned. Westmeadows will never again release any registered and contracted player which is dissapointing for "Community Football"

Mindbender, just a couple of quick questions.......

How was his attitude to training poor? I am a player at westmeadows and from what i remember Liam did not miss a night prior to christmas, was actually one of the fittest boys down here.......

Also in relation to your statement that westmeadows did not sack him and it was more a decision not to pursue him, who at westmeadows made this decision? Why was it not put to the playing group, the ppl that would have been he's teammates, and why did chad state in front of the group that he had been sacked and he would be tearing up his contract?? And what were the real reasons? had anyone from Westy spoke to him or let him know that they were not happy with him? No they did not!

Obviously Liam is a mate of mine and there seem to be conflicting stories here.....Seems that to some ppl Westmeadows like to say they sacked him, and then to others they use the excuse that he was never actually contracted to westmeadows.

Also Liam did inform Westy that he had signed with Doutta but had a meeting with them where he requested to be released from his contract thats why he told westmeadows that he was going to be released, because thats what douttas told him....It was Doutta that went back on that agreement when everyone else started leaving!

All in all as a player with Westy im quite disappointed that they chose to sack him because i would have loved to seem him back at his home club as im sure many others would have as well......I know that players stayed at westy and players came back to westy based on the fact Liam was returning....does this now mean that these players if they wanted could be released from there contracts??? i think not, seems to me like its all one way traffic here!

Paxman, knee big concern. The other two really struggle especially Hassle.

there is no concern with Paxman knee, he is absolutely flying at the moment. Saw him doing extra running last night after the rest of the boys had finished training.
if he put a colour rinse through his hair you'd think he was in his early 20's.

Some perspective me thinks!! The bottom line is the bloke signed a contract and was/is a required player from all reports. If he had an intention to return to Westy why the hell did he sign the contract in the first place, I think you and your mate are a bit confused!!
