I'm going to assume you're being serious about Abers and ask some questions. Who or what have they added that has taken them from totally un-competitive to overtake SM and the cashed up MP, let alone compete with GV? Do you realise that the top teams of last year keep recruiting so you need to catch-up first then go again to overtake them?... I will look forward to seeing Abers perform this year as they must have some special talent......

Now that we have merged with North Coburg ..... 1 that being Hadfield. There are no other clubs from Bell St north to Craigieburn apart from the little old (well new) Northern Saints Football Club.

Who or what have they added that has taken them from totally un-competitive to overtake SM and the cashed up MP, let alone compete with GV? Do you realise that the top teams of last year keep recruiting so you need to catch-up first then go again to overtake them?... I will look forward to seeing Abers perform this year as they must have some special talent......
couldnt agree with you more bomber. abers fall into the same trap every year. they recruit 10 blokes of ordinary ability. abers are miles off the flag, but id say will contest the a reserve flag with cragieburn.

We hear how Abers are the real deal every year....can someone sew their shorts to their jumpers to prevent them having their pants pulled down....and explain...(although we have heard it all before) just how they are going to be playing off in a Grand Final.....tell me how many games...and have a good think about it...will they win away from that half-a-ground they play on....WC..no, GV..no, SM..no, CB..no, Keilor..no,AH...maybe, DS..no,OP..no....the grounds are just a little too large... hmmmm, lets be kind and put em down at finishing 5th or 6th.
And as for DS to be relegated....massive statement....huge.
I like Caddy in my top 3...but the suspensions will kill him,...as will his offsider Mr Howse...their thick as thieves...good luck Super Mac at containing these two...

Good kid, very athletic fast with endurance long kick, was sick at Redlands (had Stingray barb in leg that wasn't found for 8 months, treated as groin injury, lost weight and speed). Can only go on underage footy which was excellent. B&F Central Districts U18. Gone to Melbourne for work prospects, Why Moonee Valley is anyones guess, Understand he is now bigger, stronger & faster. cheers jeff

Has anyone heard whether Marby have been able to retain Kon Karavisis on their list for '08? I took a look at the B grade GF last year and the boy was burning up the grass - Really smashed it...I've been keeping my ear to the ground over the off season and it seems he was talking to a few other clubs about a move...Mainly in the FDFL and VFL was even mentioned.
Be interested to know if he's going to be around in '08 as it'd be a shame to lose a young talent like him to another league.

What's your beef with Abers - didn't they offer you enough charf or something?

Although Kon did play on the weekend against Golden Square and killed em.

GV will smash most only got better
SM - will stay strong still a powerful outfit may have dropped off GV a bit though
then toss up
Marby - cashed up and spent plenty , have the talent to play finals , will be interesting to see what transpires and Im sure there will be more sub plots than an episode of home and away
KL- have lost a lot of " middle of the road types - very good when all is going well but would have these guys taken them the next step ? " have recruited as good as anyone if not better
CB - the crazys are in town - will be interesting as you would pencil in 8 home game wins so really win 4 away games and the crazys are playin finals
Abers - needed to pick up 15 and got them , but will they be good enough , still think snake and co are coaching from an 1980's manual but they will improve
bottom 4 relagation stakes - do these three sides have enough to keep the wolve at bay . The sides above have all added 8-10 quality footballers to their mixes and will be so much stronger. the 4 below will have to rely on having their best available each week or one of them will be in strife.
Douttas- hada injury concerns last year , but again dont look to have kept up with the sides above , Carey is a champ and needs to play a full season
have a good mix of runners , but lack height
Oakers - had a lot of good kids , but were along way of playing consistantly good football - saying that they have added some class and will improve whether its as much as the others ?
AH- losses of lloyd and Churchill are massive ,have they recruited / improved enough to go with the others ?? ,had good kids and top couple are still as good as most. but issues with height / depth
WC - keeping rabee & co will keep them on par with last year , but again so much of the comp has improved ,
