Just watched the 1st edition of the EDFL web show on www.essendondfl.com.au.I am impressed and wish Brett and his guests all the best for future shows. This is a start of many alternative media productions and something that will be of great interest to all EDFL followers. Keep up the good work and good luck with the live broadcasts.

Personally i think it is disappointing at such a crucial stage of the year, Brian has been great for the Stars and was instrumental in getting the boys to the Grand Final 2 years ago.

Obviously not being involved in the inner sanctum at Cooper St it's hard to know what goes on behind closed doors and the reasoning behind such a dramatic change so late in the season.

On this week - Douttas are set to leave several of their key players out this week against Greenvale in order to save risking injury and save them for the Abers game the following week.

Kade will also be made available for the big game at Clifton Park to bolster the stocks of the Stars.

It shapes as a massive game but i think we're all forgetting that Oak Park still need to win another game and with the 3 top teams they have to play their percentage will end up worse than that off Douttas in my opinion.

whats a great year or the marby lions , first year in DIV 1 , they will only get better next year with some more big in's which i ve heard are quiet handy pick ups and he will let the players go that are not up to standards to ease the players budget to recruit more . If Geelong dont allow Kade the opportunity to save his own club from relegation then thats pretty poor. Kade being the best footballer in the comp could very well be the difference between the Stars staying up or going down.

Personally I think its garbage 2 of the real powers of the comp (Oakers and Stars) are fighting relegation, they should be leaving this for the West Coburgs of the league.

What a stupid comment. If a club cant recruit well enough to compete then its back to B Grade, no matter who they are. Oak Park had a few good years, far be it to call them a 'power'

The stars have had a number of injuries and most of there stars missing during the course of the year.
Maybe the club needs some new faces off field with there board etc
A different direction may be needed, along with a revamp of the playing group?

By there results and where they stand on the ladder it's clear to me and everyone else out there that they have come of age under D.Callander!

Get back in the car pal and head down the highway like you were a couple of years ago to play a game of footy.

Long time since he has been a junior! Also the "RICH" EDFL man is a contracted APW player which is unfortunate for West Coburg.

Tommy is well past his best no doubt about it but you can only pick from your best available list. just a short history lesson about tom he kicked 24 goals in the under 16's in one game and is an A GRADE senior premiership player so in his day he could play. just a quick one macca you played in an A GRADE senior flag, i think NOT.

WC are fine and playing some good footy by the looks of things. They will get the big fella back from OS. They may loose a couple come finals time

I will play somewhere next season.

Seems to be plenty of talk about how Doutta rested blokes last week and looking on the team sheet it would seem they had quiet a few out. Time will tell whether the players out were in fact rested or are injured.

Either way, 2 huge games this week at Clifton and Lebonen Park this week!

Don't discount Abers from the relegation stakes as Geelong announced that both Tom Hawkins and Nathan Ablett will play in their VFL team this week which would probably squeeze Kade Carey out and make him available for Douttas.

Abers have had a shocker this year but they would have to be 100 - 1 to get relegated.

Let's not forget Oak Park need to win another game even if Douttas get over the line Saturday and that's not likely given they still have to play Strathmore (playing for finals) and Greenvale (superstars)

Also heard Oakers were left with 16 fit blokes on Saturday so unlikely unfortunately for them.
