That is exactly the problem.
He is supposed to be gracious in defeat. So that outsiders don't have the opportunity to think of him in this light.

I don't know what Robert Harvey is like behind closed doors. He could be an arseh*le for all I know, but when wearing the jumper he conducts himself well and doesn't give anyone the opportunity to think otherwise.

Paxman is a quality bloke from a spectators point of view & it seemed the game was played in very respectful manner - my comment was related to a critical time when game is over that Paxman as a known leader should have stood up. It could very well be that some spectators gave it to him & lets remember many from various clubs were certainly cheering for Keilor. I was dissappointed from a club perspective. Now let him retire in peace.

just got myself a copy of Nathan Buckley's book.
theres a story (written by bucks) about the night that mick mcguane chinned him outside a pub in Nicholson St Fitzroy.
Mick was on the juice at a pub and when Bucks and Paul Williams were trying to boot off Mick fronted bucks and said, "you need to learn never to leave your mates posted" then chinned him.

definitely great reading and bucks' opinion of Mick Mcguane is also worth a read.:thumbsu:

Ever wondered why Micky never got a look in at Lexu$ for a coaching possie......

It is morons like u that post on this website thatruin it! Where would u get that the club spent 320k for the year! Just another crap comment that litters this site. Ur probably beat up and angry that ur side who ever that is went no good this season so u sit behind a computer and make up rubbish. IF UR GOING TO POST ATLEAST POST SOMETHING THAT IS HALF THE TRUTH! U would love to have the side we had this year and next year as well. good luck!

Your right not exactly sure of the figure but it is common knowledge that Marby are very agressive with their recruiting (generally raiding other EDFL clubs)and I would be surprised if they are not in the TOP 2 paying clubs in 08 (Maybe behind Greenvale)..

And they finished 5th....

The Lancefield Football/Netball Club is a close knit family club affiliated in the Riddell District Football League. Having just missed out on finals in 2008 we are looking to take the next step in 2009, and are well set up both on and off the field to do so.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for season 2009 in the following positions:

* Senior Coach
* Reserves Coach
* Under 18's Coach

Anybody with interest PM me for more details, or email the club at info@lancefieldfc.org.au

i know this season hasn't finished yet but has anyone heard of whats happening at all the clubs, in terms of player and coach movements???
I've heard the abers are trying to get back trav jorgenson, and d.s are trying to get john barnes to coach in the hope he'll bing down a few of the recently retired essendon players?
any thoughts???
2 time premiership coach Marcus Barham has pulled up stumps at Gisborne. I reckon he'd be a good fit for an EDFL club.

Come on you lot there are another 9 teams in the comp, really who gives a continental about Marby, GA and his little mate Pilios. Have they won a game yet? Have thet won an AGrade flag? Have they got a A Grade BF winner? To date nothing more than a lot of money passing hands, sure Mores and Jets have spent money in the past but have still shown loyalty/committment to the home grown talent, not the case at Marby.

All they have is a pack of mercenaries, who have short memories in terms of what previous clubs have done for them on/off the field.

Bring it on!!!

Hey Sierra , sometimes some comments come back to bit you on your arse.
Marby didnt win the flag , but did win quite a few games finished 5th and did win a BEST & FAIREST and RUNNER UP!

No one remembers B & F's except the guys who win them. Individualism is something that comes with playing mercinaries.
Everyone remembers FLAGS !!!!!
Ask the WHORESOME FOURSOME how they are feeling watching their ex mates holding up 2 Cups.
Dollars are for today - Premierships are forever.

Thats what I'm talkin about !!!!!!!!

A little birdie told me that a doutta stars 1's player from this year is taking the club to court. It is to do with Douttas not paying medical fees after a major injury early in the year...should be able to work out who it is. Anyone else shed some more light on this one?

on what grounds would this player be taking the club to court on? I would have thought that all players are instructed to have there own health cover and income insurance as clubs cannot get blanket cover for all sides.

Yeah thats what I'd think too but thats apparantly whats happening...better check the fine print and maybe go easy on the recruiting cos you might be paying some legal fees.

Also, just want to set something straight regarding Aberfeldie and Douttas. I have heard a lot of Douttas people blaming Abers for them being docked points a few years back for playing an ungeristered player...NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!!! It was obviously the EDFL's decision and Abers did not persuade anyone about taking points off!

heard from one of the coaching staff down at c'burn that they hav got a new sponsor on board and are lookin to spend a bit of $$$ next year!!! not a bad young side, throw in a couple of good recruits and they'll be a top 4 side i reckon
