Why should the runner have got weeks ??? How many of you have played footy and not copped a spray from the runner @ some stage..... They are the 19th player and are always hurling abuse especially at antagonistic types such as Tatey....

From what I hear Tatey & Strathmore should be very grateful the runner looked after Mr Tate at the tribunal.......

The EDFL are quickly becoming a laughing stock for their inconsistentcy at the tribunal.... Can anyone compare the prelims of 06 & 07 for their on field violence and agree the league is consistent ???

What would the EDFL have done had Keilor been playing in the GF ???? Clinnick / Condos OFF and Tate 4 weeks ------ SPINELESS ADMINISTRATION.....

Yep - I agree...

6weeks for a hip and shoulder one week, cleared for bashing a runner the next...Interesting.

Firstly i must say there is nothing better than sinking froffies and watching england getting smashed by india here in this great city of london. it has been very interesting reading over the last week on here i must say. In regards to this controversy over tate i cant really say anything as i wasnt there. At the end of the day the edfl has an image they must protect too keep the league as strong as it is. If they are going to let things like last years premlin final and as in this years case go by without any ramifications then the organisation/business as a whole will be effected immensely.

There are certain leagues that already that have a bad name as it is, the edfl over the last couple of years have been very dissapointing when it comes to issues like this. At the end of the day the league generates all its money from juniors and they are not setting a good example for the kids/ parents wanting to participate in the edfl.

Any how enough of that crap in regards to this weeks finals the only team i want to win this week is tullamarine and everyone knows the reasons why. As for the A grade grand final i dont really care just as long as its a good game to watch. Gotta go india are smashing england at the current moment good luck too all teams this weekend.

well its grand final time...the biggest week of the year for the players coaches and supporters of 4 clubs who will be laying everything down to claim what we all play for....the premiership medal...

its a shame the thread this week has been littered with all this tatey and clinnick stuff and no one has really paid much attention to the grand final thats looming...

heres my previews and predictions of the two big games...

A grade Grand Final
Greenvale Vs Strathmore
Without trying to pay to much disrespect to the rest of the clubs in this league, most of the followers of the EDFL A grade know that it has been a 2 horse race for the season, with the exception of flourishes of brilliance from keilor and west cobirg this year, no team has really looked like getting in the way of this inevitable grand final match up.

Greenvale, the rolls royce of the EDFL in 2007. Few teams have been able to lay claims to the title "Premiers and champions" but on sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock if the jets can hold their nerve and maintain their physical and psychological dominance over the strathmore then they will be sure to join the elite status of teams who complete a year undefeated. However they have been in these positions before, granted they might not have been as fierce and talented as this years side im sure all jet fans can recall the last years horror preliminary final choke from an 11 goal lead only to be headed by the stars in one of the biggest turn arounds in edfl finals history. Also a little further back in the mind but still looming would be when adam winter almost single handedly guided the mores to the 05 flag in overtime with a match winning 6 goal haul. Do these demons still loom??

Their opponent, Strathmore. A dominant force in the league over the past 3 seasons. When cattle consists of the like of Harvey, Winter, Doering, May and little, its no wonder that this team is heading for its 3rd grand final in a row and with the above mentioned spearheads up and firing it will go into sunday as challengers with the experience, ability and desire to be able to dethrown the jets from their inevitable premiership. However in the 3 matches this year the mores have been outplayed and on occasion been made to look second rate for the first time in 3 years. The question will remain going in to sunday, will their belief be overran by their growing doubt when greenvale pick up a full head of steam??

Key matchups for sunday:
Adam Winter Vs Teakura Paiti: Despite greenvales recent dominance and the confidence and form Paiti has going into the game, Winter is one giant headache the jets will need to nullify to make huge inroads into taking the flag. A dominant centre half forward whos played big in grand finals before, Winter knows how to step up for the big one. Will Paiti be able to stop him if Winter gets going?

Tim Harvey Vs Travis Jorgenson: Greenvales rock of jebrolta Vs strathmores berometer and match winner. The points firmly went to Jorgenson a fortnight ago, but love him or hate him, We are all aware of Harveys capabilites and in a matter of minutes can turn a game on its head. In a brand new game, jorgenson will have to match what he did in the semi to curb harveys influence or the mores leader may carry them over the line.

Ben Hakim Vs Richard Little: Is Hakim fully fit? does he need to be to sit in the square and have the jet onballers putting it on top of his head allowing him to use his strength and skill to kick a bag? Little is the heart and soul of strathmore and we all know that if Hakim doesnt work hard enough Little will use his smarts to run off the Greenvale cult figure and cause damage by supplying run through the centre and half back line.

Dale May Vs Eric Kuret: Its more than likely that these two wont go toe to toe but this would be a mouth watering match up between arguablly each sides best onballers. May lives for the big occasion but will he be able to keep his mind focused when the jets tough guys try to get into him? Kuret being one of many jet play makers knows very well what the pace of a big game is like, and as the game gets more intense so will he, both players are likely to get a tag, but when they line up in the guts on sunday i hope both coaches allow the players to put on a spectacle one on one.

Prediction:
Grand finals can produce anything but unfortunately for the mores i think Greenvale will show that they are a 5 goal better side, and although that it may be tight for 80% of the day i dont think Strathmore will be able to stop greenvales momentum when they get a run on the this danger period will be the difference which will see Greenvale Premiers and champions. My tip, Greenvale by 28 points

Next up B grade.

B Grade Cameron Munro East Keilor

great effort by hillsides captain Jarrod Catania to get eq 2nd in comp.
hes 23, and plays for a struggling team so its a great effort and well deserved too. surely the club will have a battle to keep him away from the offers of the better clubs.

but i spoke to him recently and i reckon hes a shark thru and thru now..

Old K.D. could take a leaf out of your book for the previews in the record..... :thumbsu: Have to agree with your sentiments re the big one, no doubt SM are capable of the upset but can't go past GV who've assembled a team that would rival the best metro teams of all time, as has SM's team of the last few years mind you.

Haven't things gone quiet on here after the Tate decision, a few disillusioned fans of the local version of our great game i think??

At last you have you have strung together a few sensible words, but you still need to improve your vocabulary!

Now let’s address some of your points.
Everything you say about Rabee is correct. Show me were I have said or inferred anything different!

If you had read and analysed my post, two major references were made. One relating to his game on Saturday, and the other suggesting he would struggle against the top teams. If you had been at the game, you would have noticed that just about every time he got the ball, he was gang tackled. Had very few opportunities to get the ball out. If you cannot get the ball clear to your team mates, you are not effective.

He will struggle against the top team, because he will come across strong and big bodied players, with loads of experience behind them. I will mention a few, Alio from Greenvale. Lloyd and Churchill from A/Heights. Doering from Strathmore. He has already met Picioane from Keilor and lost.

You are quite correct, the opposition coaches will tag him, and in most cases he will be matched by the guys mentioned above. So unless he gets help in the midfield, he will struggle.

Now as for the advice. Again if you had watched Rabee in his last year at Keilor, he was not taking the first option. Result, either tackled and a turnover, or a secondary ball up. That is not being effective. In his first year he did take the first option and was magnificent.

The rest of your comments are inane and not worthy of a response.

Ahh the Grim Reaper's comments from earlier in the year....humble pie Cocko...

The voting is quite funny though. Rabee gets votes all the time. Not saying he isn't a gun coz he is but he got votes against Greenvale when he got towled but and they lost by over 70 points in the last round. For the life of me I can not work out if you are smashing teams by 130 pts plus how players from the opposition get votes. Hapened abers, craizburn etc

Last quarter specialist...seem to remember him having a pretty good one in the 2000 GF!!

Surely there's a statute of limitations on comparisons - 7 years ago whilst training in an AFL side!!!! this year hasn't played for 10 weeks, he'll be lucky to still be standing in the last......;) Maybe he can kick the 10 goals SM need to make up.....:p

Who do you think? As usual, Strathmore get rid of a kid - the easy option. No wonder they all leave - I suppose every one else warranted their spot too!!!!!!!! Shame on you mores!

I thought the idea was to play your best side X-Man. I suppose GV will be dropping one of their team full of recruits to play one of their kids. I don't think so. Plenty of "kids" in the Mores side for the GF, but surely you only play those who make up your best team.

just saw a box fall off the back of a truck on the Tulla. Contents revealed printed polo-shirts with '3PEAT - Mores 05/06/07 blazed across the front.....They couldn't be that conceited could they ???:p May have to dump them at the tip, alah Keilor a few years back:eek:

Don't blame you for trying to ease the pressure on GV Jet. After a huge recruiting blitz and an undefeated season the boys in green must be feeling a bit that way. The Mores have nothing to lose as everyone expects GV to cruise. But who knows on the big day?
