In the 70s and 80s, 3/4time, there were more darts handed around than oranges in EDFL huddles!
Even VFL.. Vander was one that comes to mind

I mean, the dart is one thing. Setting an example as a leader etc. Whatever.

But during the game? Isn't he the coach!?!?

It’s embarrassing that he’s got his mates on there and family members writing comments about how ‘the club has beat sponsorship records’ and ‘has the best facilities in the EDFL’.

No one is talking or bagging you for those things. That’s great that you got a grant for nice rooms. Where are the memorabilia celebrating the history of the club? Why are all the photos down?

Not to mention the absolute embarrassment they just made of a GOOD man, and his family. Rocky, Who is hurt by this decision (have spoken to family members).

These EK people think that others are jealous, but lots of people are mad at the damage that has been done, and a culture ruined at the EKFC.

Rooms were planned before Pat turned up.

Malcolm Blight coached back to back flags in the 1990's smoking darts in the coaches box . Nothing wrong with it.

Rocky who, is that the same bloke that got sacked in 2002, something common in this I’d say. Couldn’t coach for s**t, game plan that only he knew because not a single player had even heard those words. Game plan, what’s that give it up fellas. Junior coach at best, didn’t know a single player in the edfl. His assistant coach PETER was the biggest fool to walk on EK soil. Zero knowledge about the edfl from both of them.

If you say what you written is correct then accountability belongs with the president and his decision making after sacking the previous coach.

I dont know Bongetti from a bar of soap, but gee whiz he has been rogered big time.

Its one thing to be appointed and then sacked within 3 weeks but for it to happen and to be replaced by a bloke who has never had any success whatsoever its beyond bizarre.

He was once the co coach of St Bernards and for the last 10 years been the under 19 coach.

St Bernards senior coach resigned a month ago but this bloke wasn't even considered for the Bernards job.

St Bernards FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Rocky Iannello as Senior Development Coach for Season 2021.

In addition to his Premier U19 Coaching role Rocky will be working with players transitioning from the Under 19 and Under 23 to Senior level. The majority of these players Rocky has coached through his long standing and successful role as Premier Under 19 Coach and no doubt they will benefit greatly from his vast experience at Senior level & his continuing strong relationship with them all.



Good luck to him but i am tipping EK / the Pres will eat him up and spit him out by about round 9

Agree not good to see any club forfeit. Back to my point from last week that I cannot understand players going overseas during football season. Different to the good old days when we played, hung around the club to midnight and all socialised together at the club as teammates. Seems all out the door at most clubs by 7.30pm these days! Footy has changed.
I think Reserves as a standard in Premier is the worst I have ever seen and maybe football as a code is starting to struggle. Times are changing.
EK have had unprecedented injuries. People can bag but there is no perfect solution. All the players that left EK to go to KP was because they wanted to play Div 2 or 1 seniors rather than reserves. That cant be helped and did this shows what a bunch of softies they were also as they didnt want to hang around and play a higher standard in reserves, or they wanted $ which they went going to get to play Ressies? It comes to a point where there arent any "spares" to replace the shortage. Easy to say get fill ins but its not that easy. Maybe if EDFL didnt have thirds there would be a bigger pool across the comp ?
Everyone can just bag EK but again most clubs struggle.

The Thirds comp is a positive thing and keeps players in football. Blokes who can maybe only train once a week, blokes who work Saturday, young blokes just up from under 18’s and don’t feel they’re ready for Reserves footy and blokes who just love having a kick. Why shouldn’t they have a place to play and be involved? Cancel Thirds and these players won’t head to poorly run clubs to top up their Reserves, instead they’d be lost to the game. It’s no surprise that most of the better Thirds sides are from clubs with good junior programs and strong, positive cultures. Get your junior program right and build your culture, two things easier said than done and your Reserves numbers will be strong. And whichever team wins the Thirds flag this year, I hope they celebrate long and strong.

I know heaps of blokes that play 3rd because Saturday's just doesn't work for them.

Not sure how good or bad reserves is around the comp, but it seems like if the junior program delivers good kids into the senior program, you'll be ok.

I agree!! I wish my club had a thirds team this year. We have 12+ blokes not getting a game each week and there is no 18s either. We would’ve had more than enough players to get a thirds team up and going but club decided against it this year but will get it happening again next year. Keen to put the boots on again and have a beer afterwards lol.

Yes, forum is fast becoming a boring cesspit of nasty and puerile personal attacks. I’m all for giving EK the occasional well deserved clip. However there are a number of (mainly recently joined) posters who have obviously joined BF with the sole objective of using this forum to publicly conduct their own vendettas against the current EK president/coach, and by proxy, Bashen. All this whilst being able to hide behind their cloak of anonymity.

Every post some of them have made since joining has been an attack on EK’s president/coach. It’s well past the point of being ridiculous, and some of what’s been said has been potentially defamatory.

Maybe it’s time to close down the current season’s thread, (it’s been ruined), and start again.

Even I can’t be stuffed with mentioning that club. They built things up but have exploded very quickly over recent weeks. If they cop a belting this week I think their season is just about done.
I’m thinking calling the forfeit of the reserves early was due to precedence of the luncheon.
