EDFL Premier Discussion 2024

It seems most in here are more interested in EK and Pat C goings on than the actual game of football. Reminds me of a mothers club to be honest. Morrish would be the best defender in Premier EDFl by a mile and Goater would be best Forward in EDFL Premier by a mile. Both going to the USA to further their sporting careers.
Can I ask what people think EK would currently look like had this president not come on board?

Most likely middle of range Div 2 team.

I know this forum would be a lot quieter.

Will all sort out in the end. When Pat moves on they will be back where they belong and no one will care about them again.

I think it goes for everyone in the EDFL apart from Keilor people. It is such a bore watching them dominate the competition due to some questionable tactics i.e paying staff members more than some AFL level staff are paid, as well as raiding other clubs' talented juniours so they become "1-pointers".

Also I hear they're back at it with having their own van supplying beers instead of supporting away clubs. Absolute disgrace.

The uprise of Keilor should be studied by historians

The Whisperer of Footy is at the home of aberfeldie as they take on bitter rivals pascoe vale. In a hot and tight contest, but as the whisp expected it’s the panthers with their noses in front early.

Most games going as I sensed expect for the stars vs griff. Boy oh boy what is going on there. Can the Stars do it? It would be the biggest win in their clubs history. It would be extraordinary

Though I have no dog in any fight in the EDFL I can say I found Pat a very respectful diligent coach when in the WRFL, more so than any other, and would certainly be happy to assist him if he reached out.

He appears to have put a massive amount of time and effort to build a lower level club into a premier club in one of the best local competitions in metropolitan Melbourne, something AFL Victoria certainly has not done.

So keep gloating on perceived failures at East Keilor but don't complain if the competition falls away at the same time.

He may have some weaknesses but surely those who are there to support him are there to lesson those weaknesses

I’m actually not sure they were classed as a lower level club more mid level club in all honesty. Just saying!!

I spoke to Ruben Williams at Keilor game last weekend. Obviously he was aligned with East Keilor but because of points he couldn’t be guaranteed a game every week in seniors.

He said Pat was upfront and honest about the situation and rang a few clubs to see if anyone could fit him in with points.

I have never met Pat, but from what Ruben said he could not have been more supportive in finding him a new home at Keilor.

Being aligned with Werribee VFL they obviously want him playing seniors. See he played reserves last week and was named in seniors at Keilor this week.

Sometimes people love jumping on a bashing but in this case I think Pat deserves some kudos.

No argument here.

The best of local football here tonight. A quality game, great crowd and respectful supporters. Club rooms full with both clubs tonight. Not Abers’ way in this case, but fantastic to see both teams in the rooms, enjoying the aftermath of a great contest between
two sides who will both still be playing well into September.

Probrably happy he had one player less who was signed on big money to pay if he was eventually selected in seniors.

Great win by Deer Park over Airport West & the long haired blonde umpire. 2 weeks in a row the long haired blonde umpire has crucified Deer Park basically for the entirety of each match. The other field umpire did an excellent job. Isn't there enough umpires to ensure that no field umpires umpire the same team in consecutive weeks?. The odd mistake is ok but consistent inconsistency appearing obvious is either being vindictive or cheating. Is the free kick count available anywhere?

Either watch the video & count them yourself or ask your club once premier data finish the stats.

Round 4 preview.

We can breathe ladies and gentlemen. Mcguane is back coaching this week. Mick’s minute is back, Keillor forward handball game is back as well as Awesome Ash is back against EDFL’s suprise packet.

1. Avondale to send EK dropping to 0-4. Must win game for both sides.
2. Airport West vs Deer Park. I would say this is a snooze fest but deer park fans are too loud talking about how they should’ve be undefeated. Deer park to pick up their first ever premier win.
3. Keilor to blow past the jets who are coming off a grueling contest compared to Keilor who are coming off the bye. Keilor 60+
4. The griff would have penciled this in as an easy win early in preseason but it won’t be as straightforward now with the recent stars form. A week off was much needed for the mores who were cursed with injuries. Expecting a strong response from Strathmore who will go 2-2.
5. The game I’ll be attending. VB stubbies at Clifton Park while watching two sides who cannot stand eachother. Abers v Paco = mouthwatering. Abers haven’t impressed the whisperer like Paco have. Tudor to March upwards and take the four points.
The whisperer was back to his very best in terms of predictions. Ahhh Whisp you’ve done it again. It was a topsy turvy round to say the least with twists and turns galore came hope, hope that teams can generate momentum, hope that teams can strive for good things and hope that one day Pat will pay me for hyping up East Keilor.

1. Flowers to East Keilor. In a time for need they delivered an almighty win to kick start their 2024. Avondale would be kicking themselves.
2. Deer Park did pick up their first win in top flight but Whisp, you’ve got to shut up sometimes because this was anything but a snooze fest. I watched the replay of this game not knowing how the final term played out and I was glued to the edge of my chair. What a game of football. What a way to win your first game of premier. Daw is the name, winning is the aim. What a player he can be for this club. Congratulations Deer Park and their fans, enjoy Mad Monday tomorrow.
3. Keilor by 60+. Standard game. Great game and they have my respect.
4. I couldn’t believe my eyes seeing the score. The griff love toying with the stars and it wasn’t to be today. The stars got on top in the ruck department which aloud midfield control. I know they have mckernan to come back (saw him on the Telly in Adelaide, looking fit) but they need my man Vavra just as much. Nick Ash is quickly becoming my favorite coach in the league. The spray at halftime was something the side needed and they delivered for him in spades. Grunt, grit and determination from the mores.
5. Tudor is a genius. In a tight battle all day you could clearly see the panthers were the better side. Aberfeldie haven’t impressed the Whisperer as much as the panthers today and was certain Pascoe Vale would continue on their undefeated way.

PS. Clifton Park bar 10/10.
