my argument is that they type of team you need to win a B Grade flag, usually with mature experienced players is a completely different type of squad that will be competitive in A grade.

Many players move to B grade, because work and family mean they no longer have the ability to train twice a week, play Saturday and then do the recovery on a Sunday that is required to perform at A grade.. So B grade clubs fill themselves with these types win the flag and then those guys either go out on a high and retire or leave because they don’t wish to play A grade.

Sure, I think you’re exactly right with this assessment of yo-yo clubs, we’ve seen this with, APW,WC& CB in recent years, then you look at Tulla who have been runner up several times.
They’ve largely kept there list, is that because they haven’t gone up ? quite possibly.

Darley Football Netball Club are looking for new players for their under 19 boys team. Membership will be half price, socks and shorts provided. Training will be Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:15pm. If you are thinking of playing and want to be guaranteed a game please call club president Mark Shelly 0418 518 862

Dude if you think 13 extra points is going to make a div 1 team win a flag in their first season then you sir are moronic... it will be the diff between then winning no games vs maybe winning 5 and not getting relegated the following year. 13 points will be 4 players at best maybe 5..... You think 5 extra players in any div 1 team currently will win a premier flag.... dreaming.
Who said 13 points. Not only moronic but also can’t read.

Totally agree that’s the mindset of clubs with no long term vision. Must build from the ground up. Yes it’s not easy and might take time but it’s the only way unless your cashed up. Pay some of your 17s and 19s to build confidence and stability and hopefully they return the favour and stay and play senior footy for less than offers elsewhere. Must plan ahead and build a base of good 1 pointers and top up with quality recruits and most importantly a good coach.

Ok fair enough, but you could play over in 2019 without penalty

You could play with extra points , less men than allowable , unfinancial to the league and overaged at junior level. Why have a rules committee because the board just change the rules monthly , weekly , daily. Whenever.

Chris and Nic Prowse training with Marby and will be a couple of very handy recruits. 2 quality rucks in Graham and Prowse, 3 key 6’5 forwards in Nic Prowse, Ryan and Kokkinakis together with Clark to swing back and forward and they will put quality team out this year. Lost twice to Strathmore by less than a kick last year and suffered from heavy injury toll through middle of season. Definitely a top 4 chance

Doutta Stars have recruited fairly well. Long list of players coming in with Senior footy experience - how often they play is another question but some good gets none the less.
James Peters - Premiership player at Abers
Ned Gentile - Won Cannons BnF last year.
Dylan Landt - Currently training with Essendon VFL - played 11 VFL games last year
Dale Marshall - Another at Essendon VFL - was team of the year in the NFL in 2017.
Liam Meckenna - Another Essendon VFL player
Kell Gladson - From AFL Queensland
Dean Johnson - Murray Footy League
Riley O’Meara - Lancefield
Eamonn Ogden - Premiership Player at Keilor
Jakob Shaw - Ex Abers who won multiple U19 flags there and played rep footy

10 players that will definitely add depth to their senior squad

That’s a lot of points though

The Facebook page also shows Matthew D’Angelo from Northern Saints and Keane Romao from WRFL have also signed. Tom Ferris (last played in 2018), Jed Clothier and with Karl Brown (ACL last year) are also back.

The most points played with last year was 38. The average was around 33, with the players on multiple points dropping one this season it certainly gives a lot of room for some of those players coming in. I can’t see the Essendon VFL players being available all the time, but it certainly gives some good depth and their quality and experience it will help the younger boys. The big question is, has a ruck replacement been found?

I think Dean Johnson from the Murrry League is the ruckman

added a key defender over the weekend as well, Josef Hebiton from East Fremantle WAFL. Alex Boyse should play a lot more games, Karl Brown is a good young key forward who didn’t play a game last season with an ACL and Jedd Clotheir is back.
Definitely have a competitive squad

points , points, and more points, and salary cap. Will the debacle of player payments cut backs half way in season the previous year come back to haunt Doutta again ?

That is pushing your prediction, I’d say 5th pushing for 4th at best. Still have a lot of young players that are building. They keep the squad and still able to add to it then in two to three years they would push for a premiership.

How would that be if EDS kept Pacco out of the 4

Turbo would go full ballistic, and demand an investigation into serious salary cap and points breaches.
Hi 911 posts on the EK saga would pale into insignificance compared to his outrage at this new “scandal”. 🤣🤣
