There are a lot of changes at Marby for next year with quite a lot of players moving on to other clubs and back to their old clubs.
Challenging times but am sure they will be recruiting new ones as well.
Should be there abouts again next year even though the competion is getting stronger every year.
Go Marby!:)
Marby will be fine, the team they had was successful so only understandable that a few of them would move on for new challenges. It also gives a chance to a few of their younger blokes to break into the side.

Apparently the A Grade fixture was released at the League Annual General Meeting on Wednesday. It's not on their website yet, has anybody seen it in full? Two clubs have it on their own websites but it only has their own match schedule.

I wonder how long 'Doutta' will stay in the name?

IIRC Tullamarine were once known as Essendon-Tullamarine

Forever as long as I have anything to do with the place , but in reality we are only Custodians of the club for a Generation or Two

THE star may be iconic but a name change was seen as necessary for Essendon Doutta Stars to reinforce its identity in Melbourne’s north-western suburbs. The Essendon District Football League’s most successful senior club, with 18 premierships to its name, is hoping the name change will better engage the Buckley Park-based club with its surrounding community.
The addition to the Doutta Stars name is an immediate landmark for new club president Bruce Runting.
‘‘The most prominent thing in the new logo remains the star,’’ Runting said.
‘‘When [Essendon Bombers] move to their new base at Tullamarine, we will be the only club in Essendon.
‘‘We wanted to ride off the back of that by enhancing the Doutta Stars name, recognising that geographically we are situated in Essendon.’’
Runting himself has been on the Stars committee for a number of years and played for the club for decades — a time where the name Doutta Stars was synonymous with the region it represented.
But he now believes the club identity has to be made clear.
‘‘When people outside the area move in, they search for a place to play, and the club name hasn’t been associated with a suburb as such,’’ Runting said.
‘‘A lot of people in the Essendon and Niddrie area have no idea where Doutta Stars is. We speak to small businesses on Keilor Road and they’re not even aware our oval is on the next block. The name is a way of marketing the place, making people aware of who we are.
‘‘The jumper stays the same, as do the colours.’’

Probably a good idea, whenever I've spoken to players from other comps very few know where Doutta gala is. So it'll certainly help on that front.

Good name for a B Grade club in 2013

North essendon stars is a better name than essendon/doutta IMO

Can understand them wanting to maintain their heritage though

Might be a little late with this news. Burnside will enter EDFL in 2012 with juniors probably 10, 12 &14's not sure how many sides. As previously mentioned they will have about 5 years to get seniors up & running.
Also Rolling Meadows from Sunbury will field a full compliment of juniors including U18's not sure when they will be required to have seniors. I would expect the U18 side to play in division 3 until B Grade is split into 2.
If anyone knows more please add to this.
