Not having a crack at the coach he's taken them a long way, just doing the form. When they have 3 goal scorers against quality opposition they don't win.
Does that come down to the coach or players? I think coach. They are obviously a good team playing to the structure's set by the coach.
Saturday could easily have been two goal scorers. The third was a 1 v 5 against in the square that somehow fell into the little blokes lap.[/QUOTE it's called footy karma. if you lay down you get fleas. straight sets for the v from canning

gv jetset, are you suggesting Avondale lay down against Keilor to stop your club getting into finals?

I guarantee that he isn't the only one suggesting that.
That said, Greenvale only have themselves to blame, they had their chances to get in but ultimately weren't up to it. No doubt they'll bounce back strongly next year..
On a more positive note, your mob are up and about by the sounds of it. Hopefully they can bring it home from here.

I agree, there were a few games this season that they were in front and lost it in the third or last quarter (for example; Both times they played Airport West and the second time they played Strathmore).

They could've finished second or third if they won those games.

Lol give it up greenvale supporters, you didnt win enough games to make it and that's the fact. there is no conspiracy, and anyone who was at keilor avondale in the last round can also confirm.

Just like Pacco $250K, Greenvale & APW $300K lighter for not even making the finals, how do you reckon their loyal supporters feel about kicking in again? Doutta's $250k and relegated. No guarantee's in this game my friend. If Strathmore lose next week there's $400k. It's hard for everyone every year, harder for some than others(Mores, Jets & Abers) who have the luxury of beneficiaries throwing in $100k to pay players over 12months of the year. I hope like everyone else there is a way out of this rut of whoever spends the most wins because it is killing local footy everywhere (just look at WRFL) especially good people/volunteers
Good Luck to all teams this week

I agree that come next Saturday night there will be 9 disappointed Premier Division clubs regardless of $300K spend or $100K!

Player payment budgets have escalated - it's reality and needs to be accepted.

I don't believe whoever spends the most wins though and you can't argue the toss that this year of Premier Division footy has been the best in decades - quality and evenness!!

Keilor - spent significantly less coin than Greenvale however played in finals in 2014.

If Northern Saints had an extra $200K lying around I'm tipping they wouldn't leave it under a mattress either. You have to spend money to stay competitive however some spend it more wisely - Keilor a prime example of spending wisely be it playing personnel or coaching talent!

It should also be acknowledged that clubs these days are wiser and better at raising revenue and support.

Essendon Doutta Stars will make a huge announcement tonight at 7:30pm.

Again you are in the wrong section, you are no longer a Premier Club.
Keep the Douttas posts going boys. There is more interest in whats going on at Douttas even though they have gone to Div 1 then all the other clubs combined. They may not be in Premier Division but are still very much a Premier club. The 18 flags will attest to that.

It's official - Dean Wallis appointed coach at Essendon Doutta Stars for season 2015. And yes 1061, I know this is a Premier Division thread but who gives a crap. If it annoys you - log off.

He is looking forward to coaching a premier club in division 1. When he signed you guys were in premier :D

and dont forgot you one and only B Grade flag in the late 1990's, by this time next year you would want a 2nd B Grade flag?

Tips for weekend,

Seniors - Avondale Heights Vs Aberfeldie
Reserves - Aberfeldie Vs Strathmore
Under 18 - Strathmore vs Aberfeldie

Puffpuffgivemo could you please provide some examples of how clubs are being more wiser in raising revenue?
