Yep but really need to lift a gear or two to avoid simply making up the numbers.
Their best is up with the best but they seemingly lack in consistency.
What are your thoughts?

I have seen their performances against Aberfeldie and what I have seen over the last 2 years they will be making up the numbers not even close have expected so much more and never looked like it.

what will the 4 be after this weekend?
pacco win then EDS can drop to 6th
greenvale win to 4th
marby win can get to 5th
EDS to 6th
makes it a big last round?
Who knows what happens then?

You left off a pretty significant "what if" and that is if EDS win? That would make for an interesting last round!

no maybe i do read and take in what is said here and sort out BS from the facts. Watch us much footy as i can,

interested in your ratings of gvfl to edfl, if you have seen much edfl

Okay fair enough watch it all.

With regards your question I do not see as much EDFL as I would like but watch what i can and read everything I can. Mainly watch GV and a bit of Ballarat footy. As for EDFL v Goulburn Valley, although the interleague match was close, (With both leagues missing many gun players) the EDFL premier division is stronger at club level.

That said, you can't compare apples with oranges. EDFL has a higher salary cap being introduced in 2017 and a higher points allowance. So providing more money and a greater capacity to bring players into EDFL clubs. Goulburn Valley and Ovens & Murray (who are the strongest country league) have larger and probably better manicured grounds. The games up on the Murray are faster but the players not necessarily as big as in the EDFL. (Weight wise)

A good example is Marby's Brendon Hollow. He killed it up there on the big dry grounds. Aaron Ramsay and Luke Wilson had a crack at Rochy in the GV and were sacked mid-year in 2014. My dream match up would be Abers and Albury (O&M) both at full strength. Cheers

Ha ha ..

Yep you are right Hollow ia a gun. Wilson/Ramsay not so much. My understanding is they came as a package and that Ramsay played at Williamstown with Hollow. Wilson the set of steak knifes.

And clearly you are a gun also.

Cheers

Lets just hold your judgement on Ramsey. Might not have been the player he once was. But he is an EDFL A grade competition medalist at Douttas. When they played in there last a grade grand final!!

Fair point canplay, but what year was that?

Clearly the guy could play (hence my Williamstown comment) but his half a year at Rochy in 2014 was a few years too late for him to try his luck up there. . Overweight, slow and overpaid and tried playing injured on the big dry tracks in the GV (might have gone alright this year with the big wet) Still wanted the $$ = sacked. Think he came back to WRFL Div 2.

In 2006. Yes a very long time ago but you cant always play at that high standard! If he was at rochy in 2014 then he came straight back to EDS as he played in the B grade premiership last season and was handy along with kade for the experience for what was a very young group.

Came back from Rochy and went to his home club Westmeadows. Then on to EDS. Luke Wilson is still playing at Westmeadows

That Aaron Ramsey won a comp medal is a blight on the EDFL.. Was always a very over rated player.

I agree Silvers summation on EDFL v GVFL.. I have been involved with Geelong Footy League and EDFL and although Geelong wins the interleague every year i have no doubt that EDFL is a stronger competition.

Please remind everyone how many comp medals you've won.

So what? This bloke went from club to club with his hand out and never delivered(apart from 1 year)...
Horne, Browne, Galea, Blackwell, Maric to name a few have never won a Comp Medal - Ramsay doesn't deserve to walk in their shadow.

Here we go again the Keillor village idiot takes the bait hook line and sinker.
Can you please remind everyone how many comp medals you won.

Anyone feel like talking footy instead of a bloke that won a comp medal 10 years ago?

Greenvale simply have to win this week. Avondale will run them close but GV simply have to much to play for to drop this surely? GV by 10

Abers by 150 over Airport West

Strathmore too many big guns in what should be a tight contest over West Coburg - The mores by 15

Think Paco will just get the job done over Douttas - should be a cracker but Douttas outs may just hurt them this week. Paco by 20

Keilor/Marby should also be a cracker - Marby have all to play for to keep their season alive. Marby will really test Keilor and tipping them to upset Keilor who have had a week they'd much rather forget. Some notable outs for Keilor means ill go with Marby by 24

With the kangaroo court complete @ keilor & a few players getting suspended from last weekend & Mighty Mick resting 6 player's Marby should win & put EDS finals aspirations in doubt

Injuries have contributed in large to the inconsistency of the playing group. Other clubs have injuries and unfortunately this year has been the most that I can recall. A number have been season ending. Having said that, It still a credit for them to be in the hunt for finals and not laying down. I think if they can win the first final, Anything can happen from there.....Keilor looks shaky!!

On top of 15 minutes off the ground in last term on saturday

Abers are the most polished team again and I honestly can't see Keilor beating them on the big day. Abers have been slowly building their 2015 form again this season and now know what it takes to win the grand final. I don't go for either side, but after watching them both this year I just think Abers will have the answers in the big one. That's my opinion.. Anyone else see it going differently?
