Hey Foss & CMC, yeah watched that fight after the first goal. Not sure anyone was hurt though and more a follow on from last seasons match. Wallis would have revved his guys up before the game to show some early physicality I reckon.
The umpire must of seen something as there was a free kick given to Keilor (in the centre of the ground) after the scuffle. Not sure how he picked out a free with both clubs heavily involved.

Question- With the videos on each game will a league offical review each game? If so, are Umpires less likely to report but report players using the video system!

BYW- it's gone a bit quite on here lately. What's happening? I'm trying to reduce my input on BF and now that Craigieburn appear to be struggling not many of them have moved over to the premier forum.

Cheers..
Mitchell day was yellow carded and reported for throwing the first punch which started the fight, that's what the free kick was for! douttas no doubt got a rev up to be physical and possibly square up for last year but what a stupid thing to do right in front of the umpire. Kick a goal in the first minute of the game against the reigning premiers should of given them a massive confidence boost and momentum but they decide to start swinging punches and give away a stupid free kick as well as being a rotation down for the quarter.
Was a good game overall I think it was probably Keilors forward height and fitness that won it for them in the end, douttas look a very imposing big bodied team but fitness seemed to be an issue whether it was mismanagement of the bench and forward rotations or to much time doing weights and not enough cardio in pre season I'm not sure but the seemed to have a lot a players cramping (as early as 3rd quarter) and struggling to run the game out
If they can get that right they could be the team to beat this year
Pretty good effort from keilor and mick to start the year with an away win over one of the flag favorites with a youngish team that included 5-6 from last years reserves flag

As a previous player and current Marby man it's a little easy to get my Marby glasses on sometimes.
So I guess I'd love to know the opinion of the other members on here/general EDFL supporters around Marby as a club.

1) Are Marby seen as a dangerous opposition to face?

2) Do others see our win on the weekend and think a) wow, Marby must've put in a massive performance and are a real threat this season or is it more b) Gee, Strathmore mustn't be that great this year/played like shit?

3) Just what the overall feeling is towards Marby is as a club/the facilities/ the players/ the coaches etc

Interested to hear some thoughts (y)

Alright boys,
Tips time:
Let's as a bit of a laugh keep a tally of all our tips for the year (when posting the following weeks tips just update everyone on how you went the week before) and see who is truly the most knowledgeable on our great league.

For me:
EDS vs Keilor
Abers
vs Greenvale
Strathmore vs Marby
AH vs C'burn
WC vs Pascoe Vale

On another note, looks like I hit 4/5 and only missed my beloved Marby!!

Round 2
AV vs EDS
Greenvale
vs Strathmore
Keilor vs Aberfieldie
Marby vs WC
Pascoe Vale vs C'Burn

Good win but wouldn't get too excited as Strathmore had a heap out.

4 out of % for me also......I smokey for me was Greenvale last week.

Round 2

EDS
Greenvale -Strathmore looked ordinary
Keilor - Keilor too strong and quick ad lloked like Greenvale almost had them
Marby - Self explanatory
Pascoe - Self explanatory

Marby started off last year in similar fashion from memory gave abers a touch up. They beat all the top 4 teams during the year including Keilor at Keilor by 5 goals but yet at home Keilor beat them by close to 100 points and they looked very ordinary, so if they can close the gap between there best and worst & show more consistency than they showed last year and they will be there about come the end of the year!

Castello a very good playing coach who is well respected/liked. "Think" Clinnick is helping him this season so it's a great combination. Can anyone confirm this??

From the footage Day should be embarrassed, runs in trying to be a hero throwing punches, only to end up getting ragdolled and giving away the free.. Pretty stupid.

Who did Strathmore have out??? Can they fit everyone under the points cap as I believed they played with 44 or 45 last week

Little, McIntosh, Staudt & Todd Grima would be walk up starts that all missed

Tighe got injured early as well and didn't play the 2nd half. I wouldn't be to worried if i was Strathmore just yet. Cachia & Firrito will be better for the run and as a team they'll get better as the season goes on

1) Are Marby seen as a dangerous opposition to face? Improved and will be fighting for 4th spot, on their day can beat anyone, but most clubs in Premier are like that

2) Do others see our win on the weekend and think a) wow, Marby must've put in a massive performance and are a real threat this season or is it more b) Gee, Strathmore mustn't be that great this year/played like shit? Fantastic win, can take nothing away from that. The question mark with Marby now is can they be consistent?

3) Just what the overall feeling is towards Marby is as a club/the facilities/ the players/ the coaches etc - Good coach, good list. Club has grown Juniors so in a good place. Facilities are 2nd rate at best , desperately need better/bigger change rooms and social rooms are ordinary

I see the village idiots are up and about again. At least Mitch was facing the bloke when the altercation happened.
