This list emphasises our need for another one or two inside midfielders.

If we could add Prestia and an inside mid with our first pick, Is Brodie or McLuggage(lol) inside enough?

Laverde and Langford are going to be quite capable on the inside IMO, Heppell is fantastic in this area and Parish will be able to help out as well. Francis is the unknown could become absolutely anything.

I don't think we're going to win the flag next year or the year after even though anything is possible so we have time to add the 1 or 2 missing pieces.

Scharenberg, Berry and Powell-Pepper could be around at our 2nd pick that can play inside, McCluggage is best used on the outside and would take a few years to have the size for playing on the inside, Brodie would be the most pure inside mid that could play early on.

I guess using picks 9/10 which equals 1469/1,395 points would equate to our picks 19 (948) & pick 37 (483) total 1431 points.
They wouldn't see it that way. Going on current ladder positions, this would be my go:

Picks 2 + 20 + 38 + 56 + 74 for Prestia, picks 10 (Melbourne) + 24 + 42 + 60 + 78.

From the second round onwards they get to use 245 more points. Points wise it puts Prestia around pick 10/11

I know his knee's are suspect right now but does anyone else think we really should look at Patton and possibly trying to get Jack Steele as well? If we got those two I don't think we'd have to give up as much as say trading for Prestia on his own.

Thoughts change day to day week to week...
With defenders being better opponents and defence is stronger year by year my thoughts on future key fwds doesn't contain emphasis on height but more on kicking ability, pressure acts and successful leading patterns.
If you can get one- two meters on an opponent n be able to slot it from the boundary creates more space within 50 to lead and more space for defenders to defend.

Is he actually, though?

In terms of how many years they both have I would think so. And, only if TBC wasn't re-signing would you consider it anyway.

Enough though getting the wooden spoon will suck balls and we don't want to imagine it, it's the most likely scenario. Makes the trade simple, first round down grade.

Could only be a 3-4 pick downgrade but if it allows them the best player in the draft on top of Bowes they'd be ecstatic.

I don't want to give up such a high pick for any player, the excitement newly drafted guns bring in is great for the club.

Would you of been happy trading our 4th this year for Prestia and not having Parish?
or taking Prestia instead of drafting Jarrod Pickett (pick 4 the year before) who is still yet to play a game.

I agree with what youre saying but you dont always get a gun in the draft

As I said, going on current ladder positions. It may change this week, or by the end of the year but right now it's that way.

I dont rate Prestia - My two trade targets for 2017 are Jenkins and Gaff - For 2018 its Kelly - Then we go to the draft to fill our needs.

Port have been giving away their 1st round picks for 3 or 4 years running, Polec, Ryder & now Dixon and they are hurting now.

Let's just take our 1st round pick to the draft. I have so much more confidence in Dodoro an co now.
Giving away our 1st round pick is not that great of an idea.

He's copped a lot of stick Dodoro over the years (including me) but his last couple of drafts has been top notch.
