then they choose to not match, and we're left with an unwanted key forward after picking up Weideman/Curnow, when we could've picked a slider e.g. Tucker

Silvagni is a very talented footballer. Carlton have traded backwards to take him - their picks are in the 60s. If we bid with 24 they will match and possibly go into deficit for next years draft.

If they didn't it would be quite humorous to see young Silvagni running around in the red and black. It won't happen though as Carlton will match as they've traded their picks to do this.

What are power rankings? Scope of potential or likelihood of being AFL quality?
Latter.
Hopefully not Roby's power rankings.

Did very well, exactly what we needed. Glass-McCasker is a bolter, but I like it.

For the guys following the draft closely what's the chances of Parish & Francis being available at 4&5? could of Melbourne upgraded pick 3 with the thought process that we would have been taking a KPF with 4/5?

From what I've read/seen, it seems that after Parish&Francis the rest of the potential top 10 picks could be anything or nothing. It seems apparent that it will be a hit and miss top10.

Parish is a bit overrated tbh. Thankfully Melbourne are likely to take him.

You really should be putting IMO and not tbh. Unless of course you have become the nations leading judge of footy talent .

Fair point. I just get annoyed that everyone thinks he must be picked at 4/5.

I really don't understand why the draft is so long after the trade period is finished. There's nothing but speculation for over a month about it.

Read your post.

You'll get the answer ;)

If we draft Glass-McCasker i will never ever say his name out loud.

Pains me to even type it.
Let's hope he does a "Jasper McMillan-Pittard" and just makes it Glass.

Axel rose having another hissy fit about copyright law.

I doubt it, even Axel will realise how much Oliver is helping his music career. Pity he couldn't do the same re: Slash.

I've got it.
If he comes to Essendon, he is "Jesse G-Mac".
I'm not putting up with that name, purely because his Mum wears the pants in her relationship and wouldn't take a new last name.

Gee, can you imagine the draft blunders?
Most of the assessments would have been done by now. They'll know who's likely to fall in which area. There would be absolutely no difference.

So, lets say you have exams.
Would you prefer more time to prepare for them, or less?

There is SO much involved in recruiting players.

There will be plenty of blunders even with the longer break between drafts. First impressions of players may be best. The more you think about it the more complicated it becomes.

So you think that if you have more preparation time, you're no likely to do any better?
Are these people serious?

Honestly, less. I exam really well and the less time (within reason) I have to prepare, the more pressure I'm under and the more efficient I work.

They've known all about these players for a very long time, there is a lot but it's their job to know about these kids. An extra 3 weeks won't change that.
