So you think that if you have more preparation time, you're no likely to do any better?
Are these people serious?

You think they just started looking at these guys last week?. They would have been looking for months and months and months. And all of the draft candidates appear to have been interviewed. What extra info are they gathering? You think the draft period should be even longer?

Although I'm not a fan of how long the wait is, I think the length is there so each club can get to interview/meet with players families/speak with friends etc. to get an accurate understanding of who the potential draftee is etc.

No, I was questioning somebody saying that the draft period was too long.
"Please sir, I'd like less preparation time".

Honestly, less. I exam really well and the less time (within reason) I have to prepare, the more pressure I'm under and the more efficient I work.

They've known all about these players for a very long time, there is a lot but it's their job to know about these kids. An extra 3 weeks won't change that.
They probably use the time to conduct interviews with coaches and the like. Keep in mind that while there might only be 50 or so kids drafted this year, each club would probably investigate over 100 kids (some more than others) so they know exactly who they're getting late in the draft. With 18 clubs doing the same thing you probably can't just rock up on the coach's or parent's doorstep and chat, there'd need to be appointments made.

Plus they'd have a lot of detailed medical information to go over with a fine tooth comb. It's easy for fans to say they've made up their minds but they have a hell f a lot more information to process at clubland.

There would be plenty of time for interviews and the like over the course of the whole season. I'd be surprised if they made more than 10 interviews from here until draft day.

I imagine they are in frequent contact with people throughout the season, but after the season is over, the draft order is finalised and the combine results are in there would need to be a few more interviews done because there would be new information to consider. Guys like Dodoro aren't just involved in recruiting too, they have to deal with the current list and planning around that so I dare say they need all the time they an get.

Most of the assessments would have been done by now. They'll know who's likely to fall in which area. There would be absolutely no difference.
Wait a second wait a second.

Weren't you the one telling me Carlton needed so much extra time to work out the number one pick and any suggestions they'd have it sorted out was silly?

That was a month ago, before the combine and likely before they completed all the interviews with potential candidates.

But now your saying to hell with remaining interviews and let's just have the draft now?

BTW if you think Carlton hadn't held discussion with the top 5 before the combine then you're very naive mate.

You think there's only 5 potential candidates for pick 1? That's pretty naive. I'm saying that a month is a long time and they'd likely know pretty much everything by now.

Ok 10.

That make you feel better?

And lol at that argument. I told you that a year of footy told Carlton way more then the combine would've and that their decision would be made off that. You said bullshit.

Now you're telling me a month is long enough?
