Anyone seen McLean and Scotland at training? Moving well isnt the problem with a quad, kicking is. If they're kicking well off both feet they're as good as in.

Closed session at Visy Park today.
Mick had the tarps up on the fences so there were no prying eyes.

on afl 360 just now they had some vision of a camera man filming through a small hole in a gate...on the small bit of footage mclean seemed to be running well

I think it is important that McLean plays.

You always know you will get 120% from him, tackles hard, gut runs, great football brain and kicks goals!!!!

Agree. :thumbsu:

Kicked 3 in 3 minutes v the Tiges last time, reckon he finally worked out there's no shame in getting outside for an easy bit of the pill.

Warnock won't be dropped, he is in the starting line up

It's not a guarantee at all. How many late changes have we seen this season? Seems to be a lot more than I remember in previous years but that could just be anecdotal.

You watch it. OUT: R. Warnock (Neurodermatitis) ....

Exactly, when you have been in the system for 10+ years, 3 weeks off is hardly losing fitness. Sometimes it can actually rejuvenate you after a lengthy season.
I am not so worried about the 3 or 4 weeks off in terms of fitness but I am worried that it has only been 3 to 4 weeks for what is usually a 4 to 6 week injury.

Based on the named team it will be In: Judd Mclean Scotland Out: Duigan Ellard Casboult

They will be worried about McLean if he lines up after the last game where he kicked the 3. That will release some pressure on the other mids. Murphy found himself last week. That was the birth of a captain right there in the 4th quarter. That chip kick to Waite, received handball, running bounce goal was the stuff dreams are made of.

Warnock won't be dropped, he wins the taps in the middle, great line up named though

And he really minimises Maric's influence over the game.
Can really see Casboult missing out and Kreuzer will play the majority of the game as a forward.

Very good point.

Finals time is attrition, this aint stats........numbers are always lower in Finals.

Some years 20%.......aw, that's stats.

Go look it up, ..............most don't.

Had a nice little lel over this one on the Richmond board.

Squibs, Garlett, Yarran, Walker, Simpson , Armfield, Robinson and Curnow all shit themselves if someone is there vicinity when they have the football. It is over half their side , close the game day and be smart with disposal. Based on this I think they'll go Pettard over Tucky. Dea is a chance.

o_O

Warnock in the ruck would give us a dominate advantage. But is it worth him doing absolutely nothing around the ground?

If all 3 are fit and play then great

I would drop:

Ellard, mcinnes and Menzel

Casbolt or kruze can hold down forward

Henderson, Waite, Duigan to take jack, vickory, edwards

Warnock to Ruck 70% with casbolt and kruze the balance. All 3 rotate off bench so we don't have large portion
Of game with all 3 on ground

Sub: armfield? Scotland? Really hard to pick

Underdone???

He has not missed 3+ Months and would of spent ages on the bikes keeping up his aerobic work when being limited actually running. League players do not lose much fitness in 3 weeks these days and he will be fine if he plays.

Nah, the bloke is the ultimate professional and would have done as much as possible to maintain his fitness. If any bloke can push through it for finals, he can.

Fair enough. We'll see what happens.

The last quarter against Port is going to prove so much more than people originally thought.

1) We had a 30 minute taste of what Finals footy is like and I have no doubt that the coach staff and players will be using that in their preparation for this week.

2) Finally our skipper realized that he has the ability to lead the team. He may be a quiet person but he now knows that he can lead through example and judging by the last quarter against Port, the rest of the team are willing to follow his lead.

3) The fact that we continued our manic play even after Westhoff kicked a fluke of a goal to try and snuff out our come back is going to prove valuable if Sundays game is a close one. In the past we would have surrendered after getting close and then conceding a goal, but against Port the players stuck at the task and it paid off. This will instill even more belief in the players.

4) With the pressure of missing finals and being mocked by the footy world and their own supporters, the players (and coach) stood up and threw the pressure off their shoulders.

5) In that last quarter the players drilled their shots on goal even with all the pressure in the world on every one of their shots. This will result in the players having the right mind set when shooting for goal in future.

So all in all, I think that the last quarter against Port has ignited the Carlton flame that we have been waiting for all season long.

Lets see if I am right this Sunday. GO BLUESSS !
