Game looked over after 2 minutes into the first quarter.

Geelong look too slow in every aspect.

Times up kitty cats, its Collingwoods time to shine.

LMAO at any supporter from a team outside of the Cats, Saints or the Pies commenting on the demise of the Geelong FC.

If the demise of the Geelong FC means constantly competing in the PF & GF over the next 2-3 years then jump on-board.

How Aussies love to hate the successful, sounds like the FCKN Labor Party.

listen to 1 of the smartest people in football in Paul Roos people and just comprehend that after the 3 teams mentioned above, every1 else has a mile of work to be done to be competitive.

Re: The Geelong period of domination is over.

The one massive indicator that the Cats are off their game is their unwillingness to block for, make space for, or otherwise help out a team mate.

They're all running around in circles trying not to get caught.

completely off topic, sorry, didnt want to start a thread...

which channel is showing the GF this year?

wow, dont know what to say. cats looking so slow and old

serious changes need to be made to that list as they wont be in a position for a premiership next year and most likely no ablett

Sure, we're going to lose to a side playing great footy, but talking about our 'demise' is a bit premature
You're gone. The new breed will arrive and you find it hard without Ablett. He will magnify your downfall. You will finish 5-8 next year and teams like Freo, Carlton, and Melbourne will replace you in the top 4.

Re: The Geelong period of domination is over.

West Coast Eagles, Brisbane Lions and Carlton have that all sewn up :p :thumbsu:

The three of them will be better than your rabble at least Carlton were competitive in the final,it was interesting to see this thread started by one of your mob no Idea,Geelong will be better than your lot.

They've been very poor tonight but who's to say they won't be back next year?

Even after they won it last year people were saying that the window might be closing for them.

I think tonight's performance may support the suggestion the window is closing.

The Cats have been fantastic over the last 4 seasons, you can take nothing away from their achievements, but the possible loss of Ablett, along with the fact that none of Milburn, Scarlett, Ling, Mooney, Enright, Ottens, Wojcinski are going to get any better in the year/s to come, definitely suggests the window is closing.

The AFL's quaint form of 'socialism' ensures that successful teams eventually fall off their perch (see the Brisbane Lions, West Coast Eagles & even the thrice minor premiers, Port Power, as recent examples).

Geelong supporters should be proud of what their club has achieved in recent seasons, because no matter how much they fall in the coming years, no-one can take the 2 premierships in 3 seasons away from them.

Re: The Geelong period of domination is over.

I knew the pies would win easily as I had posted in other threads, wont believe the pies have started the new dynasty because like the hawks of 2008 being the next best thing especially after the flag, then u had essendon a few years ago with their speedy aboriginal players and been dubbed as a potential top 4 side and then u had carlton with all their top picks supposedly going to challenge for a top 4 spot.
The results ended in zilch.
Its about time the cats got done as they were leading to believe they were as good as the lions hatrick and yet should have beat the hawks in 08, well 2 out of 3 aint bad cats but there have been many many better teams that achieved more than u.
hahahaha suck eggs bomber thompson and its great seing the cats on the recieving end of umpires favouring their opponents.
pies will win the flag way to easy next week, poor saints or doggies dont bother showing up and save urselves the embarrassment of a 12 goal loss.

This should end the debate now, this Geelong team is NOT one of the greatest teams of all time.
:thumbsu::thumbsu:

how on earth could they ever have been?
Its amazing what one loss or one afl team can do to make a difference in afl history?
Think that if the cats had won in 2008 then yes they would have been one of the top 3 best ever, but they never won back to back at the very least a hatrick.
How can they consider themselves so great when they went win loss win in grand finals.
