Need I remind you of North's losses: 87 and 117 to Collingwood, 66 to Geelong, 65 to St Kilda. Essendon beat Geelong and St Kilda. We also kicked more goals than North. So what's your argument again?

I'm so happy of our progress in 2011. I know we have been belted today, we've been belted by an experienced and disciplined side, we are still young and developing. Carlton's players are brushing our ones aside, it's men vs. kids out there.
2011, we were given absolutely no chance by anyone, we were expected to be bottom 3 by most people, we've proved a lot of people wrong this year. We apparently had the worst list in the AFL. The progress we've made this year I'm happy with, the continued development of players like Zaharakis, Hurley, Hocking, Melksham, Heppell, Carlisle, Hardingham, even Stanton has had a much improved year this year. I know a shit day like today will cloud a lot of people's judgement of our side, but remember Hird has been preaching about improvement all this year, he never promised finals let alone win one, and to have made it is good signs.
2011 has also showed us what we desperately need to rectify, we need quality small defenders, classy mids and another small forward. We are a work in progress.
If you told me at the beginning of the year that we will make the 8, defeat Geelong, have a better gameplan, continued development of youngsters I'd have taken it. This time 12 months ago we didn't have a coach, were a rabble and finished 14th, Hird and the coaches first year has been a pass for me. Another pre-season will do our youngsters much more better.
Anyways, goodluck Carlton! They were tossed around like kids a few years ago too, a few pre-seasons later and they are reaping the rewards, it is them now who are pushing teams around.
