Yeah the possibility of playing WCE in Perth or Richmond means that I’d rather win and play GWS.

Pies with all their ins won’t be easy 1st week either. GWS are a lot softer than those three.

No expectations for this game. Many predicted similar changes throughout the week. Finals spot secure and not much (if any... after the other games for Round 23 are completed) ladder movement.

We get a bit of a free hit at Collingwood in this game to see *some* of what we may have to contend with come finals. Fully expecting to play them again in two weeks. I doubt they will be going at 100% in this one either (may even be a late change or two) but a win overall could possibly mean more for them.

Don’t like conceding/losing... but if it gives us the best shot at competing properly in September then nobody will remember in a few weeks the result of tomorrow night.
My word Collingwood will be. It's a live game for them. Top 4 still a massive chance

I'm excited to see players like Laverde and Begley going all out to try and earn a spot in the team next week, so I don't mind their selections at all. If either of them kicks, say, 3 goals or more and is then selected in w1 alongside Stringer, we'll be looking dangerous.

Excited to see Tom Jok play too.

Clarke in surely means Ambrose goes back, but I like the flexibility he gives us thrlugh the middle now. Is it inconceivable that we could play Clarke as a defensive forward, maybe on Crisp? and put Ambrose on Pendles given no De Goey and no Cox?

Fingers crossed we come out with no injuries.

I reckon Clarke would be more suited to Pendles - if anyone at all as the guy can dance on water. Taking Ambrose out of defense should only be done at a minimum when a bigger bodied mid is or will destroy us.

Hooker forward maybe.

Hurley - Roughead
Ambrose - Mihocek
Francis - Hoskin-Eliott
Gleeson - Brown
Saad - Elliott
Redman - Thomas

Obviously it would rotate a bit depending on who's on the ground but that's what I'd go with. If Hooker plays forward:

Moore - Hooker
Scharenberg - McKernan
Madgen - Brown
Howe - Laverde
Crisp - Begley
Maynard - Walla

With Clarke going to Pendles.

I don't think they'd do this - mainly because Clarke's strength as a tagger is the inside/contested midfielder types. What has made him successful at times this season is his positioning and body work at stoppages. Not his chase down/running with on the outside. Don't think a defensive-forward role suits him.

Clarke should play midfield and midfield only; solid ball-winner who tackles and can play a tagging role. Nothing i've seen or heard of him suggests he's suitable in the forwardline.

Ambrose was a very specific match-up for Fyfe who is a unique player; Cripps has the height but lacks that overhead ability Fyfe does, whilst Dangerfield is a bit too explosive for an Ambrose I'd think.

Our midfield looks much more balanced with Clarke in there imo, Ambrose instead is well suited to running around with Mihocek all evening.

That is a damn fine backline, add Mckenna in there too. Might see him and Redman playing up the ground a bit more this week with that stacked defence.

Could Hurley play on Elliot? Reckon we'll need Saad at his attacking best tonight and in the coming weeks, so wary of him playing a predominantly shut-down role.

Rumours swirling that Saad is not playing, replaced by Long.
