Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

I heard the Hurley interview on the radio before the match against Brisbane and when asked if he would be ready for West Coast he essentially said that he would do everything he can, he wants to be out there but he just needs to complete some running drills during the week, and the fitness staff will assess him from there. So he didn't mention anything that we were unaware of, but I'm relatively confident that he'll put himself in contention.

Crameri is a worry but apparently it's just significant bruising. Hopefully he has a light week on the training track and pulls up well in time for Saturday night.

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

I work with dozens of WC fans over here in Perf and not one of them are confident about beating us next week.

They were all so happy a few weeks ago.

But the Kennedy injury has zapped all confidence from them..:thumbsu:

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

I really dont think Hurley will play and IF Crameri doesnt come up why not bring in Steinberg in for first game,i think he has done enough at Bendigo.Ryder to play more forward......:).....And im serious about Steinberg!

Steinberg's form in the VFL doesn't warrant senior selection. He is a long way off.

I will be attending this one. Should be a great game with lots of Eagles scarves being waved at the end ;).

In all honesty I don't know who will win this one. Both teams are missing a fair few players but are still performing well. My prediction (guess) - Ess 12.15.87 WC 13.12.90

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

Essendon will go in as favourites unless we destroy the Roos today, and I suspect we'll struggle next week. Not necessarily a bad thing, you can't go a whole season undefeated, and we need to see where we're at against the good teams on the road.

We're not without a chance obviously, depends on how the structures hold up with the personnel we have. Docklands is a decent venue for us as well, we played terrifically against the Blues there last year (sorry, meant the Bullants because Carlton were missing 25 of their best 22 that day, plus the weather and umpires and ground conditions and media bias)

Currently Steinberg has shown less than anyone else from his draft at essendon. He and Davis are the only ones yet to get a game and Davis is very close.

Really looking forward to the game.
Feel sorry for West Coast will the amount of injuries they have.
Will see how their forward line goes today. Still a great team.

You must be sick of advising people that Steinberg is a long way from senior selection.

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

Naita out of today's game with a hammie injury...

Good for us if he doesn't come up, but I'd rather see T-Bell and Paddy take on a full strength ruck duo...

So you're not the same Kaisercheif13 who makes posts on fanfooty saying how shit Essendon are and how the team is full of C-graders and spuds?

I thought you'd be more confident tbh.

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

Reckon Crameri will be okay but Hurley likely will be held back to be 'cautious' as Hamilton loves to phrase it, can't see both playing just yet, but for all I know it could be reversed, regardless, with one of them firing, and Davey, Jetta and Ryder continuing good form we should be able to get on top of them, with no LeCras and Kennedy we're a huge chance, LeCras loved to torment us....

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

Adam selwood hurt according to fan footy but can't read the details on my phone. Another out for next week hopefully

Seems to be a compound fracture of the finger.
