Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

Would the Hams hit be up on the AFL site yet?

Edit: just saw the hit, not a lot in it might get off if he has no carry over points.

Video section of afl site

Only clipped him but I will be very surprised if he doesn't get 2 weeks, left the ground, head high, hurt the player.

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

Josh Hill is in career best form. Dempsey would be the ideal match up.

I mentioned this on the Eagles board just before actually, but seriously Josh Hill must've have simply despised his time at the Doggies.

I saw him play a number of games for Williamstown and thought this bloke could be anything but unfortunately he played like he didn't give a ****.
So lazy with his workrate, attack on the ball and disposal.

Clearly loving being home.

Two key players for WC

Cox - Dominant today - Best tap ruck in the AFL - Expect Ryder to spend more time in the ruck.

Waters - Musn't be allowed to be the extra in defence.

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

I'm genuinely excited for the game next week already.

Equal top spot up for grabs and we can really set up season 2012.

Fixture has been kind to us with the game being at Etihad Stadium and an extra day break over an Eagles side suffering some injuries and coming off a tough game against North could be crucial.

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

No Kennedy, Lecras, Embley, Schofield, Nicoski, Selwood and potentially Hams and Glass by the sounds of things. It is there to be won convincingly.

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

Why did NicNat miss today, any chance of missing next week?

Looking forward to waving my jacket like a madman on Saturday! :D
Withdrew with hamstring tightness.

I think they definitely should rest him next week.

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

as much as i love seeing all these players out for west coast, if we win next week it won't give me the same kind of satisfaction if we beat them with more of their best personnel. any who, we should go in next week as favorites now.

Hardingham would be IMO, similar height/weight, similar speeds, both good in the air and are decent at ground level

Fletcher-Lycett
Hooker-Lynch
Pears-Darling
Dempsey-Masten
Hardingham-Hill
Heppell-???

Forgetting how he burst on the scene at the Doggies? Lets see him do it for a couple of seasons, or even a season, before blaming the doggies.

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

What's Hurley's injury??

Can't wait for the game, should be a really tight contest. If you can get your running game on, you will tear us apart. It will be interesting to see our strong press v. your run.

Dempsey - Hams
Heppell/Dyson - Masten

I think they'll keep Lycett even if NicNat returns. That will give them the same structure as they had with Kennedy.

might be out with severe whiplash anyway! cause he throws his head so far back when he is tackled it is unbelievable! the free he got in the 4th quarter for it was the worst decision i have seen all year!!

Dempsey - Hams
Heppell/Dyson - Masten

with hurn i would go with monfries playing the defensive roll, and put nlm on the sniper dog waters! reckon he might think twice about taking someone out off the ball with nlm in the vicinity!!!

Worse than Darling dived on the ball, tried to place it over the line rugby style, didn't get it over, then lied there whilst being tackled making no effort to get rid of it, only for the umpire to call ball up? Worst decision i've seen this year but hardly surprising given it was West Coast at Subi.

Re: Essendon vs West Coast (12/5)

West Coast are serial duckers and a very good tackling, high pressure side.
I can see me going off next week if we lose it because of shit umpiring.
All part of the full West Coast Eagles Experience, everyone else has gone through it so it's your turn. ;)

Naitanui early reports are that he won't play. Hams will be ducking off to the tribunal and probably get suspended, Adam Selwood broken finger by the sound of it. Waters cannoned into a few Kangaroos, not sure if the tribunal will look at any of them though.

Should be a cracking game next week, hopefully a big crowd too.

Yep you can definitely count on that. WC have a strong Melbourne fan base and Essendon supporters will be getting down in force.

Hams is a possible exclusion due to a rough conduct charge

Might not be a bad move, Hurn is responsible for a lot of their run off HB, shutting him down will be very beneficial

Well it's hard to argue career best form Jimi and I'm in no way blaming the Doggies, I'm blaming Josh Hill.

He had, what, three/four years under Eade? There's no way a guy with that much talent to burn could say he was putting in 100% at his previous club what with the form he has now as opposed to the form we know him for.

Three years of complancency/piss weak effort and now this??
I bet Doggies fans are filthy and so they should be.
