Sydney play a contested/close checking brand of footy relying on their ball winners to scrap and feed the ball out and attack from there.

Essendon played a more open attacking style last year but had trouble stopping the counter attack. Lack of speed didn't help.

Yes we did lack speed last year, however that style we played got us close in most games and Essendon supporters could argue that if we had a couple of key players in the side that were injured, we would have won more games. Not saying we would have made the finals though.

Going into 2007, speed has been rectified by our draftees from last year provided they live up to their reputations.

Doesn't help Essendon playing at the dome where conditions are good most year around can inflate for and against for the year.

If you don't have pace you need to be very skillful in Kicking and Marking.

Players like Dyson, Winderlich, Jetta, Lovett, Davey, Houli, Dempsey are all extrememly quick.

Essendon rely solely on their spine. It is a spine that should be winning premierships, but the rest of the team is absolute dud and should be winning wooden spoons. So really next year is very open but i do have high hopes for top 8

IMO we will definetly improve and improve signifigantly. We are very underrated, but I don't think we WILL play finals. I think we're a definite chance, but we're not a certainty.
