These are my "best 22" for each club. When I look at each side on paper, I can see every team having a chance for September. This is before the injury bug strikes, ofcourse.

I'd love feedback from everyone - and I can handle the abuse , so fire away!

Your Sydney team isn't far off. Anyway, nice effort, I think we are a shoo in for the finals. Unsure that Melbourne, Fremantle, Richmond or Norths are a realistic chance, everyone else, yes, injuries allowing of course.

FREMANTLE:
B Grover Tarrant Suban
HB Hayden Johnson Mundy
C Hill Duffield Schammer
HF Soloman Pavlich Headland
F Ballantyne McPharlin McPhee
FOLL Sandilands Ibbotson Haselby
INT deBoer Palmer Broughton Bradley
E Hinkley Pearce Morabito

That's an ok looking team but I would have:

B: Grover Tarrant Hayden
HB: Broughton McPharlin Duffield
C: Hill Mundy Ibbotson
HF: Headland Pavlich McPhee
F: Ballantyne Johnson de Boer
R: Sandilands Hasleby Crowley
I: Morabito Suban Schammer Bradley

E: Solomon Pearce Hinkley

Yep....agree you can argue a case for every team to make the finals or miss out on the finals. I think that the probability of some sides making the finals is a lot less than others.

I think even with their best teams...Melb and Richmond are unlikely to make the finals..can they?....Of course.

....I think Nth, Port, Syd,Freo and WCE are much stronger candidates.

Melbourne is a young team on the way up and Richmond is in the early stages of a re-build and their time will come but I don't think it will be this year.

Also, you have Robert Murphy starting the bench...He's in our starting 18, in fact in our best 6 players.

If thats off the top of your head then thats amazing .. well done. For the saints yeah gwilt is more like 27th best and where is S.Fisher?? haha all good you did well. In answer to your question NO Richmond, melbourne and fremantle look very underdone but not to worry rebuilding phase.

B Baker Dawson Blake
HB Gram S.Fisher Gilbert
C Montagna Goddard Dal Santo
HF Lovett Riewoldt Armitage
F Milne Koschitzke Schneider

FOLL Gardiner Jones Hayes

INT King Ray McQualter J.Smith

Unbeatable?

;)

love that side. only change is i would swap J smith with Clarke and put armitage on the interchange to swap in and out of the midfield. put mcqualter where armitage was.

Can't believe nobody had Palmer in Freo's best 22, now that is weird considering his EASILY in their best 4-5 players.

Bring-Back-Powell, I didn't mind your Collingwood team but mine would look a bit different. For example, L. Brown should never be in our best 22 unless injury but I'd imagine ours may look a bit like this.

B Maxwell Presti. O'Brien
HB Toovey N. Brown Shaw
C Thomas Pendlebury Beams
HF Davis Cloke Didak
F Anthony Rusling Medhurst
FOLL Jolly Swan Ball
INT O'Bree Fraser Sidebottom Dick
E Wellingham Macaffer Wood

Freo's team always looks great on paper, they have enough experienced players and quality youngsters..i wouldnt be surprised if they shot up the ladder.

I like that team a lot :thumbsu:

You guys have done very well over the past 5 years without a ruckman in winning the clearances and contested footy - watch that multiply with Jolly and now with Ball.

RICHMOND:

B Moore Thursfield Rance
HB Newman McGuane McMahon
C Delidio Foley White
HF Cotchin Riewoldt Nahas
F Morton Simmonds Vickery
FOLL Graham Jackson Cousins

E King Post Martin

Man, I'm presuming the Tambling omission is an oversight and not a fall for out-of-date media hype.

McMahon out, Polo to HBF. White to bench, Tambling to wing. Simmonds out, Post to FF. Hislop out, Martin to bench. And could probably slip in Tuck over Moore.

Maybe in two years time.

Why would the Saints side be unbeatable? They are the best example of what a side can do close to injury free. Best injury free run I've ever seen but still not good enough to topple the Cats.

"HAWTHORN:
B Brown Croad Murphy
HB Hodge Gibson Birchall
C Bateman Mitchell Ellis
HF Osborne Franklin Burgoyne
F Rioli Roughead Hooper
FOLL Taylor Lewis Sewell
INT Guerra Renouf Ladson Young
E Schoenmakers Dowler Whitecross"

Not a bad effort. You missed Gilham in at FB, Croad to CHB and Gibson pushes Murphy out.

I laughed.

Seems McLean leaving, despite getting good recompense, has left some Melbourne fans feeling bitter.
It would be remiss of me not to explain why I left McLean out of the 22.

I just don't think he's good enough to make Carlton's best 22. He has come off a horror 2009, where every second disposal of his was of the clanger variety. He's also getting slower while the game is speeding up. His 2008 was servicable before getting injured. 2007 was nothing special either.

So how do you expect a player that has been very average for a bottom team (where he should've been winning B & F 's and been his club's standout), to all of a sudden become an integral member of a higher quality team.

I expect him to play 10-14 games, hence first emergency.

I'm not bitter at all, and we were more than compensated in the exchange :thumbsu: :)

I agree with Bring-Back-Powell again, haha this time on the situation with McLean. I don't see him being more than a depth player for Carlton after this season, however just to make sure they don't look like they made a mistake in getting him, they will play him all year barring injury.
