Kid is an absolute gun - wouldn't normally tune into a Port game but am excited to see his comeback after that terrible injury in Rd 5. Will be absolutely vital for your crack into the top 8 and hoping he gets back to the A grade form that makes him one of the most damaging playmakers in the League

If Hartlett plays and wrenches his shoulder again the players better knock his block off.

Understated what happened in the preseason. An absolute blight on the game. I think i started a thread about it but little was said and the AFL certainly didn't take notice. Hartlett should of been suspended, not as bad as the Judd incident, perhaps a week was all it deserved but to go uncharged was criminal.

Wish people would stop calling him the knife. Such a shit Brian Taylor nickname. Anything associated with that guy is shit.

I'd still rather he called our games than Dwayne or Shaw. Come to think of it, what's happened to Shaw? Is there a little obnoxious c**t convention happening somewhere?

Oh yeah and can't wait for Fyfey to come back. Have serious manlove for him.

And with carazzo and Murphy returning and playing well straight away, gives me confidence fyfe can too.

I wish I could take confidence from that but they were different injuries. Fractured shoulders are very different to shoulder joint instability. Fingers crossed this new operation holds up well.

For sure there different. My point is that fyfe would've been able to maintain a good degree of running fitness.
I think Andrew Walker has had latarjet procedure and he's had no problems since.
A blues fan remarked that with this type of procedure, walker would need a tractor to pull his shoulder apart now, figureratively speaking.

Has he? I was wondering if he had the same procedure because his shoulders issues seem to be behind him so that would be good. He still flies for his marks but doesn't extend his arms too often, usually takes them on the chest iirc. Fyfe is amazingly durable though and even if he couldn't take a contested mark for the rest of his career he would still be a gun. Will boost our finals chances!

Who needs shoulder flexibility when you can jump and take them on your chest. I'd love to see Fyfe do this one day!

Found this on Andrew Walker who had the same op by the same surgeon. Very keen to see his shoulder restrictions on game day. He'll be right.

Dr Greg Hoy, regarded as one of the pre-eminent shoulder surgeons in Australia, recommended the Bristow-Latarjet procedure as the best option for the dejected 22-year-old who learned yesterday that, for the second consecutive year, his season was ruined.
While the Bristow-Latarjet procedure has been practised for some time, it is rarely employed in the first instance because the nature of the surgery means that a patient's shoulder movement will be permanently restricted.
The up-side is that the shoulder joint is tightened so much that the likelihood of another dislocation is limited. When he resumes playing, Walker will have to learn to adapt to his physical limitations.
