Speculation is rife that Oscar Piastri could leave McLaren for their major rival and cryptic comments from the Aussie driver are only fanning the flames.

There's probably some truth to it, where there's smoke there's fire etc.

But my guess is they're floating the idea with him to replace Verstappen if he decides to leave in the new era, not Perez.

If its a Max replacement, then yes it makes sense to go after Piastri.

If it is to be a team mate of Max, it makes no sense on either side (Oscar would be be going from number 2 in one team, to number 2 in a possibly worse team, and Max wouldn't want a competitive team mate)
