Yet to see this anywhere in my area (west/north-western Melbourne), but maybe I'm just not going to the right shops.

I'm not into the whole low-carb principle because if you suck down 10 stubbies a night it doesn't matter if they're 100 or 160 calories. :D But having said that, I will buy a low-carb beer if it tastes OK, and I like to taste as many new beers as I can find. Of the low-carb, I'm partial to Michelob Ultra (95 calories, 4.2% alc), which has a bit more flavour than some of the local alternatives, and is cheaper too. It also makes for a good traveller because it doesn't bloat you as you're walking home if you have 3 or 4.
Cascade Green or Boags Classic Blonde if you MUST have low-carb as they are the only ones with flavour. I say to anyone with Pure Blonde in hand "Drink Soda water, its cheaper and tastes the same"
I go to Sydney once or twice a year and always head to The Lord Nelson for a few pints and a Ploughmans Platter. Have tried (and liked) all their beers with Three Sheets being my favourite.

Can confirm it is available at Dan's and has been since last week. Nice beer, worth a try.:thumbsu:
BWS can also stock it, but it doesnt really sell that great,

Right now im digging
Carlsberg special brew
Kilkenny
Kronenberg
cascade first harvest (very nice drop, but seasonal)

The best beer I've ever drank is Augustiner. Sadly, it is only available in Munich and surroundings. But if any of beer lovers are thinking of going to the Oktoberfest then that's the beer to drink.
I also like Plzen [Chech Rep], Budvar [Chech Rep - which is actually original version of Budweiser] and Warsteiner [Germany] and those are widely regarded as some of the best beers in the world.

Localy, Little Creatures and Cascade are very good.

I've only seen it at First Choice so far, so I'm thinking that Coles have the exclusive distribution rights so far. I haven't found it at Dan's or BWS yet. So my advice would be to head to the nearest First Choice/Vintage Cellars, it's worth making a trip for it.

Michelob Ultra = Bud Lite = absolute tripe. I had you down as a better drinker than that.

I did manage to track down the Cascade Green at the bottle-o at the north end of Union Rd, Ascot Vale.. and what a fine drop it was. Reminiscent of the old Diamond Daught or whatever the ____ it was that CUB used to pump out a few years ago. As you say, the best of the low-carbs.

In the process of finding it I also sampled Bluetongue's Bondi Blonde which is just disgraceful, as well as the completely tasteless Carlton Dry. The Boag's low-carb is ok without being spectacular, but the Cascade is definitely the pick of them, as hard as they might be to find.

Much to your chagrin YOTR, the Michelob stays at #2 because the local has it, but yes the Cascade Green beats it comfortably... despite the search involved.

These truely are my favourite beers in no particular order.

Coopers Stout, Coopers Pale Ale, Coopers Sparkling Ale and Coopers Dark Ale. :thumbsu:

Agreed, is akin to drinking a bottle of Mt Franklin IMO... On the other hand, have you/anyone else tried Bluetongue Lager? Quite enjoyed it when I had it a few months back.:thumbsu:

You South Australians need to broaden your horizons. Coopers and Southwark should be no where near anyone's favourite beers. Mediocrity in a bottle.
Why because it is not "Imported"

I have friends in Europe who rate Sparkling as highly as posers rate Knappstein or Grolsh here...

Didnt realise Dr Glen Cooper posted here???

Nah I ahve to agree all good drops. But I prefer Southwark Stout, marginally.

Gotta agree, Southwark Stout is good, so too a pint of Guiness, tap poured at the pub with lunch, usually Oyster Kilpatrick. :p

You've got my juices flowing Geoffa.

I'm gonna be in Adelaide ina couple of months time. Have been known to sample a few at The Holdfast which were quite nice, I'm looking at expanding my horizons this year and having a taste at the Port Dock, do any of you South Aussie boys have any recommendations? I have had the ginger beer and its quite good, especially in summer

For those who like a beautiful dark beer the Monteiths Winter Ale is available. Have also had some 3 Ravens Smoke Beer recently. Beautiful Stuff!

Hopefully they still have the Black Bart Milk Stout going. The Old Preacher and Black Diamond bitter go pretty well too.

I got completely shitfaced there when I was in Adelaide last. Actually I get shitfaced there every time I go to Adelaide :D

I went to the Holdfast a while back and the best thing about that place was the fridge full of Trappist ales they had sitting there, and were selling them at bottle shop prices! I had a Rochefort 10 in there for $12!!!!! One of the worlds finest beers in a little pub in Brighton Road Glenelg! Was pretty damn happy with myself after that discovery :thumbsu:
