In 1992 I went to Victoria Park for the first time. It was an awesome game of football with some stars of the day like Lyon, Daicos, Schwartz and Pert all in good form. Jakovich brought up his 100th goal that day in just his 21st game. He kicked 7.5 which was about as accurate as he came. Big Sav dominated the other end with 5 big ones. Shaw and Stynes were best on, both at the peaks of their individual careers.

My best memory was when Daicos kicked a goal with minutes left only for a free kick to be given to Garry Lyon off the ball and the goal didn't count. Melbourne kicked 1 more to seal the game by 9 points. I remember leaving the ground and all the Pies fans complaining about the holding free kick Lyon had recieved, even tough Collingwood led the free kick tally easily. I was only 12 years old but will always remember it vividly. One of the best!

John ****ing Russo , what a ****ing cheat. Disgraceful , bizarre free kick.

Well, I guess I might pick the only win we've ever had of any significance.

'66 grand Final.

Thanks Collingwood for providing me with a username!

ive been following the blues for years but honestly not many have been sweeter than rd 4 this year. 310 days or so without a win, pressure was on and pies fans had it in the bag. was really proud of how we stood up despite all of this and downed a beer for each of the boys after the game- handy sunday session that.

Any victory over them is sweet.

But for any of you who have memories that extend beyond the era of reality TV you would know that the sweetest victory of all was when you beat them on their own turf!! They were just so dominant at Vic park. For those of you too young, have a look at their win / loss record, the best of any.

Forget the West Coast stat, they have not been around long enough. If still up there in 30 years then maybe . .

We Carlton supporters are becoming a little blase about beating the pies ..it happens that regulary.

Although a few grand finals wins over them have been kinda fun at the time :)

yeh right. we saw how you all reacted after the wins this year. they were like your grand finals. especially the first one...

fair enough they were pretty much your only highlights in the last few years

^blues at princes park only slightly worse

Yep, and our record against both at their respective home grounds = crap. Thank you for shifting to the MCG (I understand the circumstances but not so good for you guys) and especially thank you to Carlton for playing us at the Dome :thumbsu:

Unfortunately I wasn't old enough to have attended the many grand finals so I'd have to say the best, most sweetest win again them was by 1 point in round 22 2004 on Friday night Football. We weren't looking too flash in the first half and I was expecting another onslaught until we started piling the goals in the third to eventually take the lead. Then Tarrant kicked a goal with a minute to go to put them a point down in the last qtr and I was as nervous as hell until that sweet bell rang and the tears started bucketing from the filth supporters eyes.

1992 Round 12. The Devonport game in front of a big crowd (I got in on a Pies membership as they'd closed the gates) 1 point yesssss! Midfield dominated, no Plugger Burke 29 possies

1993 round 4 the Winmar game, McAdam's 5 and Winmar's brilliance stuck it up the most feral crowd in existence

1992 Elimination Final, Pies had finished equal top and were cocky as hell that they were going to win the flag. 8 points to the Saints and that was it for the Pies- Lockett 5 Loewe 13 Marks Harvey 34 possies

1987 1st time I'd seen us beat the Pies, Lockett 8, he and Loewe 25 marks between them

2004 Round 8 Number 8 in "the Streak" everyone was kicking goals Milne 5 Gehrig 5 Kosi 4 Guerra 4 -Saints top Pies Bottom yesss - punches in the ferals crowd between Pies supporters :D

2005 Round 17 Saints by 73 Kosi 5 Milne 4 Guerra 4 Gehrig 3 Actually felt sorry for them at one stage, poor Lockyer was getting pantsed by Milne with 21 possies and 9 shots, and friggin Woewoeful kept running to the opposite wing to where the ball was in possibly the cheapest game of football I have ever witnessed leaving the Saints with an extra man at every contest

1994 round 23 Lockett's last at the Saints boots 8 of 14 to get the Saints over the line by 2 points Burke 36 possessions

2008 Semi Final - Boring as bat shit as the Pies were shot but we beat them in a final which can only be a good thing, apparently they were better than us though so Pies fans can take solace :p Riewoldt and Dal Santo dominating

Falchoon - was the 1992 match that you posted the one where Ken Sheldon ran to the boundary and went absolutely ape shi! at Devonport? Earlier in the match. That was a cracker. :D

Any win over Collingwood is a good one. The recent semi final win was a recent highlight but that 1992 Rd 12 1 pt win and final were also standouts, along with the famous Winmar match at Victoria Park. Unfortunately the 1966 GF was before my time, would have been great to have been there.

Only have vague memories of that 1992 Rd 12 match but I remember it being a cracking match worthy of a Grand Final, think it was one of those stand alone games on a Monday or something in front of a massive crowd. I'll never forget Ken Sheldon going nuts though, shaking Devonport by the jumper and trying to fire the boys up at 3/4 time. Still don't know why they got rid of Kenny, pretty good coach I thought.

Probably the game in 02 at Footy Park. All in brawl at half time, Rocca misses a shot 30 out dead in front to tie the scores with 2 seconds left, Kane gives Holland the finger after the game which starts another all in brawl...add in Eddies ridiculously one-sided commentary of the game on replay.

That would be the fave. That and beating them by 1 point at the MCG in 1999.
