Didn't get the chance to post this morning but backed Knoydart today, I thought he would have been a moral if he had drawn a barrier always good when the barrier gets you a price.

I was also going to back Richie's Vibe but when the rail was on fire with not many making ground I went Knoydart one out, I thought my money was done after 400M but wow, I don't like getting carried away with what horse's do visually until I have the data to back it up but that was incredible, no horse had made ground all day and he had the race won in the space of 50M, not an amazing field admittedly but some listed level horses in there, Richie's Vibe coming off a group 2 win.

I thought he could be a lower level Group sprinter now that he had been gelded but he may be even better than that, can't wait to see his data from today, hoping it backs up what I saw.

For those that haven't seen it, link below.

I also backed Laidback Larry and Prince Of Penzance in the Mornington Cup, they just went too fast in the early stages which set it up for the swoopers, I still believe both horse's have good futures ahead of them, Laidback Larry better suited to a 1600-2000M races in my opinion.

I still can't get over Knoydart's run. Made the opposition look like maiden company at Gunnedah. Bloody hate Nash but a good ride, did it way too easy in the end.

No better feeling then when you back one and they drop like that, very easy to watch. As I said they were not genuine A grade horse's (Richie's Vibe is good but the 60kgs and long prep told) but you're right they looked like maidens the way he flew by.

Hoping the data backs it up because he could be a very exciting sprinter, a versatile one at they able to race on speed and also able to run on.

I'd run him in the Oakleigh Plate if I was the Snowdens and Darley.

Geez there are a few shorties I'm really keen of putting in doubles and trebles. El Roca (Guineas Tragedy), Twirl (2nd to Rubick), Ecuador (Equal Doncaster Fav)

Spewing about Ecuador, on @ $4.40 when markets went up last time and scratched the morning of opens up $1.60 today.

Looking at the Lightning I'm keen on Snitzerland and Bernabeu and looking to risk Samaready at the 1000M.

Here is Bernabeu's jump out at Flemington last week for those that have not seen it, impressive, Shamexpress finishes 3rd.

Low handicappers rating would scare people off and his record on paper doesn't read all that well but his figure on Melb Cup day would have finished a half length behind MOC when he ran 2nd in the Lightning last year.

Seems a different horse down the straight (maybe the penny has just dropped) but if that jump out is anything to go by it looks as though he hasn't gone backward.

Very frustrating day for me today. I'm sick of biased tracks and I'm sick of nash rawiller getting too far back. Went too hard on The Bowler(no luck) and Modoc(nash rawiller special of getting too far back on a leader track).

Think the conditions of the Mornington Cup need to be reviewed, considering the winner gets automatic entry into the Caulfield Cup. They need to make it a set weights and penalties race - One can be handicapped out of the race if you are asked to carry 60kg with the next weighted horse 55kg.

The 1000m might be a tad short for Shamexpress anyway and his first up form last start was unimpressive. But if Olly can get cover midfield and then clear running at the from the 400m I still think he's the best sprinter in the field. Hard for me not to have a few $$ on Sham, back him every other start.

Samaready beats the rest.

I think the lower weighted horses will dominate the Lightning.

I really really like Twirl Sydney

Thats about it for me

Competitive race that Twirl is in but she rated on par with Earthquake on debut so have to be on her as a result and think she will only get better as she goes up in distance.

Mick Price was on the radio today and was saying SAMAREADY is fully fit and pretty full of herself, had 2 jumpouts and is ready to go on Saturday. He said she has bigger fish to fry in the Autumn with the 2.5 Million dollar T J Smith Stakes but they are here to win this race worth 500k. 1000 meters slight concern and if they run a really quick 1000 in the low 56's she might struggle but if they run it in the 57's she should win. Said to forget her last run where she suffered interference in the run, got too far back and also suffered internal bleeding and still only got beat 1.5 lengths by BUFFERING in the Manikato.

His only two worries are SNITZERLAND and BERNEBEU and said no disrespect but the 2 yr olds are no chance.

I don't take any notice of what the trainers say generally but I have massive respect for Mick Price, I think he is a straight shooter and has summed the race up perfectly.

Long John just made a mess of some average Dubai horses... price was a spoil if you thought he'd handle the Tapeta. #didn'tgeton

Was just logging on to post the same thing with almost exactly the same hashtag

#sadpanda

I was in tote yesterday at lunchtime - announcement came through that following rain there was to be a track downgrade at Port Lincoln - dead 4 to a heavy 9. That's a fair downgrade in one hit

Fair to say with the amount of rain Adelaide has copped in the last 24-48 hours the track is probably an underwater 9
