"The club will continue to cooperate fully with the AFL and any Queensland police investigation. As a result of the suspension, Brendan will not be attending our Club Champion event tomorrow night."

"While everyone is entitled to the presumption of innocence, the Brisbane Lions Football Club wants to make clear it is taking this incident seriously and feels the only proper course of action is to suspend Brendan immediately from all club activity until such time as the AFL and police have had an opportunity to investigate the matter further."

Haven't read the whole thread, but has anyone asked how what Cousins did (and got 12 months for) is worse for the league than Fevola and his D-headedness?

Surely the league will think about stepping in?
I cant see it but im sure someone will -at least Cousins is trying to get it together!

If this is true, simply another attention whore.

So this woman flirts with Fev and lets him buy her a few drinks, goes out to his car to engage in some sort of act, changes her mind, and claims foul play.

Two of the womans' kids were with her at the time, so I don't think your version is anywhere near the mark.

Do we even know if it was his actual dong? He has a history of running around with dildos, surely he gets the benefit of the doubt? No?

I wonder if the GC17 will have a crack at him now considering

1) Alex would have to be a total twit to consider getting back with him now, so there isn't a reason for him to want to come back to Vic

2) If the Lions sack him then he will be considered a "delisted" player and thus can grab him as a pre-PSD pick up (they have 10 available)

3) They have a TONNE of cash to throw at him

4) IF they can nab Pav and Ablett they could seriously push for finals next year !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Fev, I hope you like it on the GC ;););)

ever heard her speak.

those two are the "warwick and joanne" of the 21st century. :D

Difference being one club is doing something, the other had their heads firmly in the sand.

The clubs have got nothing to do with it. One got a 12-month suspension for never failing a drug test (among others), and the other has had yearly indiscretions which make the man (and the league) a national laughing stock.

If the league were so worried about protecting its image, then a good hard look at the two players would reveal that one (Fevola) is worthy of a punishment equal (at the most) of Ben Cousins.

Ha ha ha ha ha, hard to work out who the bigger peanut is, Fev, or Voss for recruiting him.

Suck it up Brions, 2 first round picks wasted on this dead beat.

Everyone is quickly jumping on Fev, no different.
This woman hasn't been sacked because of impropriety before, this woman hasn't got a string of booze-fuelled misdemeanours on her record, this woman hasn't had her spouse leave her at least once for messing around, this woman doesn't have huge gamlbing debts, this woman hasn't been fairly well exposed as a complete and utter mindless douche.

Other than that, tho, you're spot on.

Didn't Carlton give him the indefinate suspension right before they traded him as well? Strong signs he'll be moving on at the end of the year, only question is which club has the balls to take him now he's done his dash at 2 clubs now. Seems pretty clear he's not going to get his act together.

It's almost like they're trying to rid themselves of a huge financial black hole on their books. Wink wink, nudge nudge.

Poor bastard. Lions are stiffing him here. Cannot possibly claim not to know what sort of character he is.

Nah. It's footy media and BF posters who love a Fev scandal. At this stage the Lions are reserving judgment until after an investigation. Fev hasn't been too bad since moving to Queensland - there's been some stories about what he has done in the past and a lame attempt at a scandal about being out of bed too late in Melb.

I'm going to wait and see what actually happened before supporting or condemning.

OK, I'll spell it out.

Thread title:
"Fev facing axe..."
Hence
His (current) club are doing something about the problem, ie they're sacking him.
Hence
The AFL don't need to.
Hence
The situation is different.

oh great....can it get any worse?????
Well at least the Broncos have Greg Inglis for two years now before he returns to the Melbourne Storm.
Wow, he whipped it out that forcefully?
It was probably the first action he has had in quite some time.
I tend to think Milne has a very tarnished name -whether innocent or guilty.
I tend to think that Milne is very fortunate so far, but I don't think that case is over yet.
