Fev to lions, Bradshaw + Rischa to blues

What people haven't pointed out yet. What a combo Brown and Fevola will be!!

Win/Win

Rischetelli is promising and adds to Carlton's philosophy of a dominate midfield. Bradshaw will be serviceable for the next 2 or so years but won't win us a premiership.

Re: Fev for Bradshaw and Rischitelli?

I guess you can understand Brisbane wanting to ensure their team is going to be as successful as possible over the next couple of seasons while the GC team comes in - it will keep attention on them, rather than the flash new boys.

How so? Rischitelli is a spud and Bradshaw is a fossil...

Tot 10 pick would be much better for Carlton.

Happy with that trade...

Bradshaw is a 60-70 goal forward with 2 years left in the game

Rischitelli -Rischitelli has become an important component of the Lions’ midfield brigade in recent seasons. He isn’t afraid to put his body on the line for the team and is widely regarded as arguably the Lions’ most courageous player. He is a clearance specialist who revels in the tough stuff. (as stated on the BL website)

will be great to have Rischitelli, McLean and Hadley going through the middle to back up Judd, Murphy and Gibbs...

Makes Carltons Midfield very very deep indeed!

I am also jumping up and down that the Pies and Syd wont get him due to playing hardball, they have now missed out!

Lions forward line becomes very sharp indeed..... Fev and Brown = Lots and Lots of goals!!!!!

Hang on, SEN are all over this one:

Blues: No offers for Fev

SEN | TRADE UPDATE: The Carlton Football Club has released a statement insisting there has been no movement on a trade for their star forward Brendan Fevola.
Despite speculation the Sydney Swans have offered Fevola a four-year deal, Carlton general manager of football operations Steven Icke says there is nothing to update

Can't see how this would possibly be a good deal for Carlton.

Bradshaw is nearing the end and Rischitelli is yet another midfielder in a team full of them. I would've thought a guy like McDonald would've been in Carlton's sight for defence.

Brisbane will miss Bradshaw, but the Brown/Fev combination is going to be scary.

Voss will keep Fev in line as well you'd reckon.

Credit to Brisbane for having a real dip this trade week. Whilst my team is trying to work out if Pick 14 is worth one of the best rucks in the league or a guy who came before Judd in the draft...Brisbane is atleast out there adressing its flaws.

Its flaws were clearly:

- More forwards to support Brown - They have got that with Fev, Staker and Buchanan.

- Run out of defence - Raines.

Carlton have addressed short term issues with Bradshaw, but are looking shaky for long term considering they now have no 1st round draft pick to pick up a KPF.

Reckon this is a shocker for the Blues.

Note: I won't believe this until I see it confirmed

Is Bradshaw able to kick 70+ a season?
He'll be able to kick 130 a year IF he stays fit. Be the first time he'll be the only big forward in a team. Carlton will rely so heavily on him like they did with Fev. He's got 2 years in him. By 2011 Carlton will be peaking. Not worth anything after 2011.

Dont like the trade for Carlton.

Re: Fev for Bradshaw and Rischitelli?

my gut says (hopes) it's B/S

I think adding Rischitelli to the deal is complete overkill if Sydney were just offering pick 14.

Wow. Bradshaw will be done in a year or two max, and I really don't know how he will go as the sole forward.

Rischa is solid but no superstar. Just another footsoldier for the blues midfield.

Lions big winners in this. Brown, Fevola combo going to be very hard to stop and Lions upgrade from Bradshaw with a better forward thats two years younger. Only lose a midfield footsoldier, not even a decent draft pick.

I thought the Lions trading earlier in the week was very ordinary (Staker, Buchanon and Raines), but this is a great coup if true.

Blues said they would only accep a "super deal" didn't they? This is far from one!

Carlton lose out big time. Carlton are already flooded with midfielders and Rischitelli would be hard-pressed to replace Judd, Murphy, McLean and Gibbs.

Bradshaw isn't the forward that Fevola is either and there's no long term improvement for Carlton as Bradshaw is 32 next year.

Shocking deal for Carlton. Carlton will not make the finals in 2010.

Re: Fev for Bradshaw and Rischitelli?

It was announced at our B + F that we were NOT going after Fevola..
If they turn around and do a deal for him, I would expect there to be an uproar! Also, Bradshaw is an integral part of our team, that also would not be a popular move IMO..

Dont like the trade for Carlton.

On the plus side, Fev is a head case who is a constant embarrassment, hits the piss at the drop of a hat and has a bottom lip you could sit a cat on.

Makes sense really. Brown is the only skipper in the league who could say to Fev "behave or I'll clock you one" and be taken seriously.

Win for Brisbane. Scary forward line. Makes sense of the "trading for depth" add-ons of Staker, Buchanan and Raines. Vossy pushing for a flag while he's still got JB and Black. Good on him.
