Fev to lions, Bradshaw + Rischa to blues

He'll be able to kick 130 a year IF he stays fit. Be the first time he'll be the only big forward in a team. Carlton will rely so heavily on him like they did with Fev. He's got 2 years in him. By 2011 Carlton will be peaking. Not worth anything after 2011.

Dont like the trade for Carlton.

Carlton have no one to hold the ball up across the half-forward line, Bradshaw will be too slow on the lead. He's better when he's one out in the square.

There's a thread for the worst trades in history, this one could be up there!

Re: Fev for Bradshaw and Rischitelli?

It was announced at our B + F that we were NOT going after Fevola..
If they turn around and do a deal for him, I would expect there to be an uproar! Also, Bradshaw is an integral part of our team, that also would not be a popular move..

10 rds into next season and Fev is on 40 goals im sure it will be considered a popular move.

Give me Fev's bung head over Bradshaw's bung knees anyday.

How old is Bradshaw though ?. Starting to break down with a few injuries here and there from what I've seen of him this season, so might not be a bad trade for the Brions.

Throwing in Risca seems to be a bit of overkill though.

Will be interesting to see how he goes one out in the forward line with no Brown Dog to take the heat off him.

Re: Fev for Bradshaw and Rischitelli?

Hmmmm. You'd think that any "off field infringements" by Fev'd be met with five hours in the bar with JB followed by five rounds in the ring - bare knuckled. No helmet.

Cannot believe that the Blues couldn't have done better than this via Sydney

They have handed the Coleman Medallist away for not a great deal at all.

Dumb, dumb move.

If Bradshaw gives 2 years at 50 goals a season, I'll be happy.

MK will play a more permanent role down forward, hopefully chipping in with 30-40 of his own.

I honestly believe that Bradshaw has been close to Fevola over the past 2 years (especially when you consider the amount of ball directed to Brown). Whether Bradshaw can keep it up is another question.

Carlton are midfield mad. How many midfielders do they need.
If Bradshaw has injury problems then they'll have the best midfield in the comp and the worst forward and backline in the league.

I admit I know little about Rischitelli but I feel Brisbane are the winners out of that. Brown & Fevola will be the best CHF - FF pairing ever basically. Really catapults them into flag contention.

Not sure if I really want Bradshaw. Would've liked a Lachie Henderson maybe, or a 1st/2nd round pick... just a younger forward who we can actually build around. What's Rischitelli like?

And agreed... you play unfairly on the trade table and you miss out... simple.

How can you say Carlton have won on that. Bradshaw 30 and injury prone, Riskytelly just a honest toiler.

Fev is worth more than that. He is still only 28.

Not happy Jan

Re: Fev for Bradshaw and Rischitelli?

I can't believe this might actually happen. Bradshaw practically bleeds Maroon, Blue and Gold. He's a club champion.. WTF?!
Wonder what Rischitelli would do when he first meets Judd.. that would be a bit awkward. "PRESSURE POINTT! STEVEN SEAGAL" ahhh Fev you bloody pisser. :)

So you watch alot of footy???
Can find his own pill good vision and smarts and knows how to kick a goal.

Bradshaw has been a good player but at his age and with no jonno brown at chf he will struggle big time. Riska is a decent mid and will add good depth but he will never be a star. Lions win I reckon

Well done Brisbane if this is true!

This for me really reads Fevola for Rischa. Bradshaw will have on good year but a risky proposition. Will be fortunate to get 2 full years out of him. Rischa may struggle to break into the Blues midfield.

Surely there are some draft picks thrown in to sweeten?

have to agree .... but brown and voss have alot of work to do with fev... if they can get him right, it will be a dangerous forward line.

Carlton had to take "under market value" to move Fevola on. He's on a massive contract, and perhaps the deal involves Brisbane paying the majority of his contract. Reckon Bradshaw will be good for a couple of years, and if we can get 50 goals from him, i'd be pretty happy.

All this 'Bradshaws body is shot' stuff i only speculation at the moment. If this trade went ahead i'm sure Carlton would know pretty well where he is at, and how he can fit into our future plans. At the very least it'll give us a quality FF to replace Fev for a few years, while we develop our forward setup beyond that time span.

Re: Fev for Bradshaw and Rischitelli?

No one wins from this deal.

Fev - A muppet. Why would you want him at your club. Getting old.
Bradshaw - Old and wont be around long enough to win a premiership.
Rischitelli - Worth a second round I guess.

So in simple its Fev for Rischitelli.

Meh...
