It wont happen, i guess it was just a case of premature celebration for some of us and premature devastation for others.

Now that Sydney have got their first round draft pick for Jolly, they now 'have something' to offer Carlton, and a first round pick plus i'm guessing a player or later pick. Our offer of our two boys won't be able to match Sydney's and Fev will be heading to the Harbour City.

Oh well...

Either way we can't lose... we either retain our boys or we get Fev

.....even with Sydneys 1st round pick... Carlton will still require a full forward to kick their goals...who are Sydney going to give??

"With Club officials privately confident there will be no last-minute complications....Bradshaw and Rischitelli must agree to the deal, but they are originally from Victoria"

Just hope this doesn't force us to give pick 12 plus Bradshaw to outbid Sydney. If we were to give pick 12, I'd like Bradshaw to stay.

Maybe pick 12 & JMac or Rischa. Then it still leaves Carlton short of a forward.

As it pains me to say this, I'm OKAY with this trade. I'll love Braddles forever but I'm being brave about this decision. Fev has double the years left of Bradshaw. I'll see if I can send Bradshaw a thankyou card. All the best to Braddles and Riska.

I so agree with you 100%!
THis is such a heart vs head situation.

I'm gonna break my own rule and actually blindly trust the club's braintrust on this one.

Voss has exceeded all expectations in my books this year. Not only in terms of success on field but in terms of how he's changed without destablising the off field operations of our team too.
For the first time I can remember in many years I'm of the opinion that what he wants to do is a move in the right direction with minimum risk. And if it fails? Hell it can't be as bad as a "Heuskes" can it?

rich wont mind having both browny and fev up front to hit up lace out. geez nice work brisbane. carlton did alright if they had to get him out but brisbane would be loving life

This is a brilliant trade for you guys, love to see Carlton get screwed. Kinda makes up for your other trades. Why are Carlton going along with this anyways......? Why do they only want Bradshaw who has 2 years max left and an average at best midfielder for the game best FF? Ahh...Carlton. :D:D:D:D:thumbsu::thumbsu:

I'd be weary of the trade if I was a brisbane supporter BUT... can you imagine Brown and Fevola in your forward line together? Do you know how good that would be? You might hate it at first, but when Brown and Fev are kicking big bags and winning games... you might change your mind.

Sometimes it's a pain in the ass trying to stop one of them... imagine trying to stop both. Your forward line is gonna be as dominant as any. (if the deal is done)

Playing the Devil's advocate:

Do we really want to head down the path of other sports where players change teams as regularly as they change their underwear? I love NHL, NFL and soccer but something that really annoys me is the regularity in player movements. While the team is bigger than the individuals, it's sometimes the case where the individuals make up the teams personality and Bradshaw has certainly been a big part of that.

Don't think we can stop it. But like I said I don't think we can draft our way to a flag over the next two to three years. So trading is our only option.

As for Bradshaw... agree 100%, he's a beauty. Thank God for DVD's, if he goes the memories will live on.

Imaginings abound... it's like putting batman and superman together...

Meh, even better:

Don't be evil indeed... :p

THE completion of Carlton's blockbuster deal to send outcast forward Brendan Fevola to Brisbane relies only on the approval of Lions Daniel Bradshaw and Michael Rischitelli, who will meet the Blues today.

Crucially, Brisbane will pick up all of Fevola's salary in trade week's first huge deal, which began to unfold late on Tuesday night when it is believed a Lions official contacted the Blues and was expected to be finalised today.

Carlton will show the Brisbane pair through their Visy Park facilities and put them through medical screenings, after its All-Australian full-forward Fevola agreed yesterday to a four-year offer to be traded north.

Also the Lions are still keen on X Clarke for a 4th round pick.

I have a picture of Batman and Supes shaking hands that would be great to shop Brown and Fev's heads onto. . . but it's too much effort to blend the colouring and I'm a perfectionist, my photoshops of Lade are proof of that :p

If unloading MacDonald has something to do with salary cap issues (and also the fact that he wants to return home) just how are we going to be able to afford Fev?
