Fevola a Lion

In all honesty, I am 50/50 on whether I want Fev at the Lions

There are many good points :thumbsu:, and

MANY MANY BAD POINTS

> the one point that I feel sways me to want the trade to get done is that probabilty that with Fev being 2 years younger than Braddles, I think this will prolong Browny's career by 2 years :D

For example, if Bradshaw retired at the end of 2010/11, then Brown would be on the end of massive pressure and triple team tactics when he'd be 29/30 and as we saw with Carey, the end for that type of footballer can come very very quickly in terms of injury & output :(

With Fev there, and the style of game he plays - Brown would have a lot less attention on him in the later stages of his wonderful career; and anything/anyone that prolongs the career of the great man is fine by me :)

The problem is you can have too many defensively minded blokes in the centre and you either tackle the opposition and force another ball up, or you are too reactive and the opposition gets away with the clearance.

This is part of Brisbane's clearance problem. Too many blokes applying pressure, not enough trying to make the play.

Then between us we could form the perfect midfield brigade. I have always wondered why you don't win more clearances, thanks for the insight.

If you take the passion out of it an look at it logically there is great thinking behind the moves. (I'm a passionate Lions supporter and I've managed to do it).

Fev is good around his feet, he can crumb his own ball when he is on song. Bradders (bless his little cotton socks) can not. Brisbane have really struggled for a few years to find a small forward to crumb the packs under Bradshaw and Brown. Carlton have Betts who does this really well so Bradshaw is a good buy. Brisbane with Fev get an extra 20 goals a season and have a small percentage of the loose ball problem solved.

Bradshaw comes off the vetrans list making room for Brown or Black to two highest paid players.

Rumors around Rista wanting to go back to Melbourne come up every year, last year it was the Bombers. Brisbane have been desperate to get another in and under mid fielder and a big body in the center to help and protect Black. Rista was seen as the heir apparent but has fallen away over the last season and played more as a leading forward this year. staker and Buchanan pretty much sealed rista's fate. Also with Charman and Big Luie fit Brennan is free to play as a mid fielder and give some protection to Black.

Rista would have had a season on the outer with Rich and Redman coming through so fast from last years draft and Buchannan now on board.

I want him to, but I just don't think he will.

Carlton can't back down on trading him now, that ship has already sailed.

The biggest part of the deal is that we are paying his full salary. Carlton would be rapt with that.

The rest of the deal is secondary.

According to SEN, Bradshaw has agreed to the move, but Rischa said to be dejected is unsure about committing.

They have just left Carlton's HQ.

The problem now is that if Rischitelli refuses to be traded and stays at the Lions. What is he going to think of Voss and others? Hopefully it'll give him a rocket and he'll lift another level next season. Or he could go of the boil and ask to be traded to a club of his choice (possible the Gold Coast) at the end of next season. Hopefully Vossy didn't put too much pressure on him to agree to the trade.

Okay Brisbane, time to apply a little more pressure here and test Carlton's mettle.

Keep Riska, he doesn't want to be sold to a dirty club and I can understand that.

Offer Bradshaw and Jmac and then leave the ball in Carlton's court.

Rischa will be fine if he stays. If he had the shits with being put up for trade, he wouldn't want to stay.

Voss is apparently very open and honest with the players (much more than Lethal ever was) and Rischa will know where it all stands.

I really think people are piling too much emotion on this.

Rumour is that Braddy has said yes, but his wife is not sure about moving to Melbourne.

Given Fev's wife was reportedly not keen to come to Qld (according to Random SEN Caller), I think I smell another trade in the offing... ;)

Yep it's reached the point of no return now. Fevola & Bradshaw apparently committed. Carlton have to look at JMac or Hooper or Harding if Riska turns them down.

Just leave pick 12 alone Carlton!

I'm getting the feeling that some lions supporters who were previously
rusted on anti-Fev are starting to come around.

Get on the wagon. With Voss'y very astute recruiting we are no longer just a bunch of hard working triers, but a real top four chance.

Who gives a **** what that bimbo thinks, if she was a half decent wife she would listen to the **** that pays for her lifestyle year in year out.

With the revelations of Rischitelli's reluctance, is anyone else being torn to-and-fro by the bipolar forces of emotion and pragmatism?

Yes.

But the inner-@sshole in me wonders if his manager hadn't played the go-home factor to get him more money than he has proven he is worth then he wouldn't be in this position.

Makes me feel dirty thinking it...but there ya go...

Makes me wonder if my subconscious actually does want this trade to happen, unjustly vilifying Rischa as a means to an end.
