Re: 4 way fev deal

What you have suggested is not enough to get Fevola over the line. You can't give 2 fringe players and a late first rounder for the COleman medallist...regardless of his misdemeanours.

Plus, if Fev is on the market, there will be a lot of interested buyers with better picks.

I think Dawes would have to be in there somewhere but.

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

Rrrrrrrrright, the Swans will trade for a 29 yo jackass who wont be around for our next flag and give away our B and F winner from a month ago. Of course we will....

Fev can stay in Vic, i dont care i want him nowhere near the Swans.

How many bums does ROK put on seats, 10? 20? The problem you face in Sydney is the lack of coverage. You need a Fev type player to get noticed and bring in the punters. Why do you think you got Hall?

Last year ROK was desperate to come home - the Swans claimed they couldn't get the right trade scenario and he would have had to go PSD to Melbourne to get home.

Now the ducks are almost all in a line - West Sydney coming onto the market soon - a FF who is one of the most charismatic players in the game and a good player who wants to move.

It would be a gamble for the Swans to a point, but I reckon you've got nothing to lose.

Re: 4 way fev deal

i agree with you. i was just trying to go with the similar formula to the op.

in reality, i haven't the slightest idea what to trade for fev, and i'm about done trying to come up with something thats win/win ie not giving carlton pick + beams or anthony.

leaving it up to the recruiting team to decide.

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

If Fev goes who would be our leading goal kicker in your opinion to replace Fev??

Carlton havn't got the guts to trade Fev.
They are not Sydney who did it with Hall or the WCE who did it with Cousins.
It won't happen.
They hav'nt got the balls to deal with the backlash from their supporters.
They will dress up the punishment they dish out to Fev and throw in a demand that he attend AA meetings etc.
They might even get a full season before it happens again and the circus starts all over.

Re: Fev may be headed to Sydney according to Caro

Once the decision is made I think Carlton will trade him for whatever is the best offer.

Seriously doubt you'd get 2 x top 10 picks - and knowing Sydney wont trade pick 6 I reckon Carlton will be looking at Lewis Johson plus maybe a 3rd round pick.

Jeez I wish Melbourne could weezle our way into that and get our mits on Johnson. Wonder if Carlton want pick 11 back?!.. :D

Thanks for telling us what we need, you would know i guess.

We do not need Fev for exposure. The club has marketed blokes like Jesse White, Bird, Vez, Jack and Reg Grundy quite extensively the last few months ever since Jesse played really well against the Blues, and the crowds were good all year after Barry left. 30k just about every time at the SCG after Barry left and a good crowd at ANZ. It is just bull that we need to trade for someone like a Fev or Baz or Lockett parked up in the forward 50 every year to create excitement in Sydney. Jesse is creating excitement and talk by himself, and with Barry gone, Goodesy is finally taking his rightful place as the face of the Swans. He is seen a lot more around Sydney now.

ROK is our B and F winner and has said he is committed to our team now and is very grateful to the fans and club for how they welcomed him back after publicly saying he wanted out. He is going nowhere. Pick 6 is going nowhere and Roosy is reluctant to trade away our 2nd pick. We are not giving away and good young guys that other teams would want like Jesse, Vez, Grundy, Currie etc. so we dont really have anything else Carlton want.

Besides that point, i dont want Fev anywhere near Sydney and many Swans fans have spoken to have said the exact same thing. The supporters made the club hire Roosy in 2002 over Wallace when Rocket Eade left, i wonder if another movement can be started to keep Fev away...i'd be all over something like htat.

So, you are saying that although Fevola's behaviour should be unacceptable to Carlton, other clubs should find it acceptable? Okay, we've got some good forwards and don't need Fevola, but I wouldn't want him at my club for anything.

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

Brisbane- No. Why give up a good, flexible clubman in Bradshaw for a total headcase in Fevola?

West Coast- Hell no. Rebuilding plus want to keep off field culture solid.

Freo- CC and Swaby are at the Demons now, so no more stupid trades. Rebuilding.

Port- Rebuilding.

Adelaide- See Brisbane, replace Bradshaw with Tippet.

IMO its Sydney or bust.

West Coast- Hell no. Rebuilding plus want to keep off field culture solid.

Like yogurt, milk & cheese.... culture needs to be fermented to have any solid weight...Enter the ever fermenting Fev

Brisbane said the same under Leigh Mathews ended up recruiting Sydney & Ports troubled Heuskes then sent a life line to North's Bad boy Martin Pike....

Hansen is a forward they can develop and has indicated he already wants to be traded East

Here's the selling point.... Judd's played with and Captained all the above and.... none of them are loose cannons that manhandled him or his missus at a function.....;)

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

The whole point of having one of those boys play FF, would mean having other players shoulder the load of kicking Goals.

I in-visage a forward set up of;

O'Keefe Kruezer Waite

Betts Cloke Houlihan

with Irish, Garlett and Yarran moving through.

Having teams trying to match up on the half forward line alone creates headaches.
Striking fear into the hearts of VFL defenders everywhere.......:D

Take out O'Keefe and that is one very, very ordinary forward set-up.
Rotating Irish and Yarran.........LOL:D

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

Carlton will not sack Fev no matter what they say.
They are set to become the laughing stock of the AFL.
They need to send a clear message to the team that this type of behaviour will not be tollerated.
How do you build a group of young champions into a disiplined team capable of winning a premiership when they all know they are carting baggage.
I suggest a year out of the game might teach him a lesson.
Carlton are set to give him another public slap on the wrist.
It was stated by the club last year that he was on his last chance.
Maybe they ment it was on his second last chance.
Or maybe the next time is his second last chance. Ha Ha Ha

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

Fev - Swans
Jolly pick 23 to Melb
McLean + Vezpremi - Carlton

Swans lose Jolly, Vezpremi and 23 get Fev
Melb lose Mclean get Jolly &23
Carl lose Fev get Mclean Vezpremi keep 11

Carl give dogs 11 &27 get Everitt and 15

??

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

You haven't been reading this correctly......

a trade would involve ROK OR White and a second round pick, maybe 3rd.
Would not be all three.
____________________________

ROK is a better player than White, but White has huge potential. Swans won't trade him.

ROK and Fev are worth about the same value.

Fev is a better player but his baggage weighs him down. Both of them have 2-4 years left.
White 10 years.

Swans will not give up 2 players and a second pick just to get Fev

more like a player and a pick

foe this to work Carlton would have to give up a 3rd rounder i would guess

Don't be so self righteous, the Hawthorn list has heaps of party boys on it that like to get just as loose as Fev.

This is complete ridiculous :)

We aren't going to trade one of our best young players as we rebuild. We aren't going to trade our ruckman, who is one of the best couple in the league and so vital to the way our team players. We aren't giving away a first or second round draft pick.

That is one of the most unrealistic suggestions I have seen this offseason.

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

what's with carlton fans thinking that clubs will give up a first round draft pick and other solid players

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

Caught a snippett of Roos on Perth Sport news last night , saying they were interested in drafting Seaby and hadn't even considered Fevola and was unlikely they would be interested ???

Hally might have been enough for Roos and doesn't need more distractions in last two years of coach .If Swans do take Fevola it wont be for much !!I reckon maybe one draft pick 22+ pick from Bulldogs for hall pick 31 .

Carlton get picks 22 + 31 for Fevola Call me silly but that is all !! Fev has stuffed up , West Coast got nothing for Cousins -- lost one of our great players for nothing !!

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

Look back at Premiership sides over the years and you will find that those with elite midfields and not forwards are those that win flags.....

Geelong: Ablett, Bartell, Corey, Selwood, Ling etc
Hawks: Mitchell, Sewell, Hodge
Lions: Voss, Akermanis, Black, Lappin

The list goes on....
As we whitnessed on Saturday, having a dominant forward does not promise you the riches and spoils of winning a flag.

Not true IMHO...

Hawks had Buddy, Roughie & Williams; Lions had Lynch, Brown, Bradshaw...have to rate both those forward lines as elite.

Only exception is Geelong whose forward line is not elite but it rained like buggery and this made it a scramble.

I reckon you do need a strong forward with tall marking options to succeed in finals.

Difference being is that Cuz was not under contract...Fev is.

Also just been told that Freo are considering a trade involving Taz and pick #20

Re: So who wants Fev?

I keep wondering how Carlton have room for this alleged $700K/year salary for the next two years.

Maybe this incident is a handy way to shed some $$$.
Veterans List next year.... means only half his payments go towards the salary cap. Hopefully this eases your mind.

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

Carlton won't trade fevola. If they lose fev they will lose any chance at a premiership for at least 3 or 4 years. AFL Football is a business it is all about making money by winning grand finals and increasing membership base. AFL is not about making people happy it is about making money.

West Coast had to sack Cousins , Carlton would have to suspend Fevola for a number of matches if Fevola stays.
