I still can't work out how the AFL Members can be sold out when Geelong and Collingwood combined don't have enough AFL Members to fill it

Did they just allow ANY AFL Members to buy tickets to this one?
The AFL member's sale was for all gold and silver members initially, regardless of club support. I think that only happens for the GF where competing club supporters get first crack:

"Gold and Silver AFL Members can upgrade to a reserved seat within the AFL Reserve using their 2022 AFL Membership Barcode via Ticketek for matches at the MCG.
Bronze Members may also be able to upgrade to a reserved seat for Weeks 1 - 2 matches at the MCG at the Guest Pass Price, subject to Guest Pass availability and capacity."

Ok makes more sense then. So people with neutral or other club supports were letting mates get tickets with their barcodes then

The irony of it is that if Collingwood are participating, it gets easier for me to get a ticket in the AFL Members every week. The first week of finals is open slather, the prelims are gold members first and the GF is competing club support first.

It's strangely odd (in a good way) that the Grand Final is the easiest game to get a ticket for lol

Got three tickets but my daughter (Gold) missed out. They had her down as 'Absentee member'.

They mixed up her membership as she was paying monthly but decided in June to pay balance in full.

She is now in a big argument with the AFL. She is not happy!

Sounds incredibly frustrating. Good luck!

Good luck to her. What a stuff up by them. Surely they can work something out.

Get together with Kirby for a class action.

Got 4 tickets but 2 of my sons are away and wont use them. I have offered them to family but they are set so may end up with spares. Anyone interested can pm me and will see what we can do

The whole ticketing process is incredibly poor. I cannot believe that the Afl doesn’t demand a better system.

Is it even possible to buy two tickets in different rows or different bays in the one transaction? (As in there is no continue shopping button). Yesterday when there were minimal tickets I.e. singles. I was happy to buy two singles for my kids ground level of Ponny. I would have then let them sit with my mates and I sit in their seat.

Didn't want to start a new thread, so maybe this will morph into an entire finals tickets thread.

Received an email from the club about GF registration and the ballot.

Hi,

Ahead of the first chapter of our 2022 Toyota AFL Finals Series campaign tomorrow, please take some time to read through the information below pertaining to the Collingwood FC member Grand Final ballot.

A hard copy of this information has also been sent to members with access to register for a Grand Final ticket via mail. We expect these letters to be delivered prior to the earliest possible registration date, but all required information can be found within this email.

Grand Final Ballot Priority Groups

Collingwood FC has three member 'priority groups' when it comes to Grand Final ticket access, specifically Priority 1 (P1), Priority 2 (P2), and Priority 3 (P3).

Members with P1 access to our Grand Final ballot are entitled to register for guaranteed access to purchase a ticket to the 2022 Grand Final, should Collingwood FC be a participating team.

Whilst P1 members who have successfully registered are guaranteed access to purchase a ticket, please keep in mind that no members are able to select the location or price of their allocated seat. This is where the ballot element comes into play.

Should Collingwood FC make the Grand Final, the allocation for P1 members will be balloted first.

Once the P1 ballot is complete, the P2 ballot will commence. If tickets remain at the conclusion of the P2 ballot, the P3 ballot will commence.

For a full breakdown of our Grand Final member priority groups, click here.

Registration Times

Members for each priority group will have a designated time within which they can register for access to a Grand Final ticket.

All registrations must be submitted via Ticketek.

The date of these registration windows will depend on the results of our Finals matches, as detailed below:

If Collingwood WINS the Qualifying Final, our Grand Final registration windows will be:

Wednesday 7 September
Priority 1 - 8AM-12PM (AEST)
Priority 2 - 1PM-4PM (AEST)
Priority 3 - 5PM-9PM (AEST)

If Collingwood LOSES the Qualifying Final, then WINS the Semi Final, our Grand Final registration windows will be:

Wednesday 14 September
Priority 1 - 8AM-12PM (AEST)
Priority 2 - 1PM-4PM (AEST)
Priority 3 - 5PM-9PM (AEST)

Please remember that it does not matter what time you register during the designated timeframe as all registrations will be randomised to determine the order in which tickets will be allocated.

Registration Process

You will require your 12-digit membership barcode number(s) to register for the Grand Final ballot.

Members who wish to attend together must register in a group by providing all membership barcode numbers in a single transaction, using one credit card. A limit of eight [8] barcodes per transaction applies.

Each member barcode will be charged a $6 non-refundable fee at time of registration to cover administration costs.

Members will be required to register for Grand Final tickets via the internet (by logging onto ticketek.com.au). Please ensure you have a My Ticketek Account before registering. If you don’t already have an account, we recommend logging onto ticketek.com.au and selecting ‘My Ticketek’ to create an account at least 24 hours prior to registration.

Members wishing to attend together who sit in different priority groups are required to register in the timeframe allocated to the member with the lower priority. For example, a P1 member who wishes to sit with P2 members must forgo their P1 entitlement and register in P2 with the other members.

Please see below for the barcode number(s) in your account that have Grand Final access, displayed by priority group:

Priority 1:

Priority 2:

Priority 3:

Please do not enter the 'Ad', 'Co', or 'Jn' that may appear before each barcode number into Ticketek - these are simply there to distinguish adult, concession, and junior barcode numbers.

To find the barcode number(s) of members linked to your account, simply select the 'switch accounts' option in the top-right hand corner of your MyMagpies account.

Just thinking forward to the Sydney prelim if we get over Freo (I think we do).

How much of the seating at the SCG will be allocated for away team supporters? I travelled up there to watch the round 22 game and it was 95% Swans fans.. 🤮

For a Prelim final will the AFL allow enough seating for away team fans to even it up a bit? Pies fans travel. We will fill any allocation given to us, but how much seating will we get? Anyone know what the arrangement would be?
