Regardless of age, he's a star of the comp and a big out.
And he’ll be back for the PF and then the GF. He’s a hell of an ace to have up our sleeve.

See how I already have us playing in the last two finals? My Pies intuition has kicked in and right now I’m ridiculously confident. I’m enjoying it while it lasts.

There is absolutely no chance that Collingwood goes into a final against Melbourne with one ruckman; Gawn would tear us apart. Cox is safe. I think Bobby and Ginni are also safe. WHE and Lippa are names that would be in contention. WHE has been pretty good the last few weeks and gives us versatility and gut running. Lippa unlucky, but he goes out of my team. Of course, we could get an injury at training next week, and then the dilemma would be solved.

Don't say it!

Gawn has had a weird season. He's either been ordinary or outstanding.

A lot of that was due to the Grundy combo and the fact they finally worked out that Gawn is a terrible forward. He then went on a tear in the ruck once Grundy went out but the past few weeks he's dropped off again. Wouldn't shock me if he's carrying an injury.

I think the sub needs to be an impact player which is why i lean toward Ginni over a WHE.
I suspect Ginni will start on the ground. I'd think you need more match winners on the ground, not sub, even though he does provide a spark.
Maybe Markov sub

Agree, the Sub role is better for burst players rather than WHE whose strength is his ability to gut run - I'd have Cox as sub in preference to WHE.
WHE either starts or doesn't play. Versatile he is, but not an impact player.

If anyone is interested in following tonight's AFLW game against Melbourne (last year's Premiers) tonight on Channel 7 (Melb) or add their thoughts on the game:

Such a tough week for the Selection Committee.

OUT Frampton, Macrae, Lipinski
IN Moore, Murphy, McCreery ( Sub )

Melbourne Controlled the game last time and took our run away whether it was illness through the club or having a bad day this week we need to bring Game A for 4 qtrs. do this and we win. Massive week coming up and i am already on edge Let the bourbon run free :)

He has played 9 games spanning 5 years and only played 2 AFL games this year. He isn't coming in unless we get a significant amount of injuries. This isn't PlayStation where you pick a side without consequences.
Pfft don’t throw garbage around including his time as a 19yo at Geelong. What’s relevant fitness wise is his past 6 weeks at Collingwood and he’s been fit. Let me also be clear I didn’t suggest we pick him and I wouldn’t pick him. I only corrected your completely fabricated assertion he’s always injured.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that maybe... Just maybe... We are playing funny buggers with Naicos?

The messaging is that he is very unlikely and up against it but nobody has ruled him out definitively.

It's probably unlikely in honesty but if we did think he was a decent chance to play, what interest would it serve us to be truthful? Let Melbourne scramble their plans when teams are announced next Wednesday instead
Yeah no you're right, the club's playing cagey and Nick is secretly already training the house down in his unknown indoor location. I don't think they'll even name him as an emergency and the club will happily pay the heavy fine as Nick unexpectedly runs out on the ground and his late selection throws the Melbourne boys into a state of confusion and they lose the game. I'll believe anything if it suits the right agenda.

Howe is on the record saying he expects to play in the backline and we can still using him up forward if need be.
Moore, Murphy and Beau are automatic ins, with Fin and Frampton the obvious outs.
We won't be taking on Gawn with just one average ruck. so both Cameron and Cox are safe.
Ginny isn't getting dropped after last week but most likely will be the sub.
WHE, Lippa and Noble have enough credits in the bank to persevere for now.
Therefore the likely third omission is Markov.
I like how you logically connected the dots to arrive at your outcome. The gaping hole for me though is the logic of 2 x 💩 = gun in the ruck battle? Whether we throw one or two shit trucks at Gawn he’s going to dominate them. Take your medicine and plan for the ruck loss then strengthen another area.

The second issue with it for me is role fit. I don’t think any of our defensive mix without Markov is equipped to beat Pickett without sacrificing their own game. Sure IQ might do it (I’m not convinced given his struggles with Cameron in 2023), but I’d rather him on Chandler and rolling off to support whoever is minding Fritsch.

Just on the training at the MCG thing... It made sense to me to do Wed Friday Sunday Tuesday, but then we've done Wed indoors, Thursday full session at 4pm... and then we've backed it up with a Friday session? Unless it's not a physical session and it's just about stoppage set ups and so on? Intriguing.
