Understandable.No Roar Deal this week?
Cricket Victoria trying to replace Kevin Murray's name with Shane Warne at the Junction Oval.
He was from St Kilda C.C...their home ground is Junction oval. To be fair i'd say his connection is pretty relevant.Initial reaction is pig sarse. What did Warnie have to do with Junction Oval?
I there wasn't already a stand there with someone's name on it.He was from St Kilda C.C...their home ground is Junction oval. To be fair i'd say his connection is pretty relevant.

Which seven other clubs do you think can make this year's top eight?
(18 times seven selections).
17 – Brisbane, Melbourne, Western Bulldogs,
...
Which other club is most likely to reach the Grand Final?
(No captains picked eventual premier Melbourne in 2021).
6 – Melbourne
5 – Brisbane
We’re doomed.Interesting preseason tidbit. We're tipped by every club to make the top 8, and second most clubs to make the grand final this year.

Nah!We’re doomed.
Nah also. This time it's come from the players who have a better idea than the 'experts'We’re doomed.
The players need to finally learn to deal with the hype, the expectations and the pressure if they want to get to the next level. Which I'm sure they've been learning to better deal with throughout the pre-season.We’re doomed.
U17 Boys just smashed Lions. 17 8 to 6 8. Some good talent coming through!
Ok so GC Suns have a few good ones in 2023 draft - some of their best today in big win against Brisbane in U19 were the 17 yo’s

Alright, found a link to three academy games.
Watched the U18 boys and there wasn’t a lot to like, Jaspa showed a bit with his movement in traffic and showed he can kick 50m quite easily but were a couple pretty poor defensive efforts. Number 6, Jack Manly is one who stood out just for his kicking action alone, sweet left foot kick but I’ve got no idea whether he’s on any draft rankings at this point.Something terribly wrong with our academy.
U17: Suns 110 defeat Lions 44.
U18: Suns 103 defeat Lions 28.
U18 Girls: Suns 52 defeat Lions 12.
I thought it was to allow them to move around and be able to cut the angles offI've missed a rule change - what's the deal with players standing five m off the mark on defence?
Not a rule change, this season clubs seem to be favouring giving the kicker an extra 5m and having the ability to move rather than standing still.I've missed a rule change - what's the deal with players standing five m off the mark on defence?
But the command from the umpires is stand, so they can't move.I thought it was to allow them to move around and be able to cut the angles off

Thanks. It's been used a lot tonight, and it looked a bit useless at times. No rule change
Quite a few teams did it last year
I don't see the benefit in doing it 85+% of the time
Depending where the kick is being taken you may decide to do it
The thing is you can only go sideways if you are told by the ump you are on the 5 meter area. So you really need to go back a bit further
It allows you to jump up and down without penalty and of course move sideways or forward to the imaginary 5 meter line before the ump calls play on.
You do this to cut off certain arears of the ground
If you go back say 7 meters you can move forward only to the imaginary 5 meter area, any more it's a 50 meter free. Why risk it.
No problemsThanks. It's been used a lot tonight, and it looked a bit useless at times.
Dogs in particular, seem to do it all the time.Thanks. It's been used a lot tonight, and it looked a bit useless at times.
