All I'm hearing is a lot of "bla, bla, bla". If you're going to stay at the Hawks, just sign and and be done with it. If not, let us know and just go hammer and tongs for the rest of the season and helps us win the flag and then move on.

He wants to stay, but then

"There's not much I can do with that. The president's come out and said what he's said and the club has too. They've put the offer to my management and myself. At the end of the day, it comes back to my decision, whatever that is. We'll just wait and see at the end of the season."

Doesn't fill you with confidence

Everyone tries to find the negatives out of a positive situation.
He has stated he wants to stay. He doesn't want to sign until the end of the season so he can focus on his footy.
Pretty straight forward. But all this hoo-haa from a supporter base as negative and whingy as Hawthorn has spiralled this out of control.

If he wants to stay, then sign - simple. What's he hanging out for? The offer that Hawthorn has presented is final - so I'm not sure what else is holding him back.

Saying that he wants to wait until the end of the year so he focus on his footy is rubbish.

what did travis cloke do? was that rubbish too?
everyone else seems to be distracted to the point of hysteria

Many have said, if he wants to stay just sign.
I don't think it is a matter of just signing on the dotted line. No doubt there has been and will continue to be plenty of toing and froing to nut the contract out. Given how huge this is going to be for Buddy why wouldn't he want to make sure that he and Liam Pickering dot all the "i's" and cross the "t's"..

Sorry Flukey, I had enough of the pink already.

All i'm hearing from supporters is that's exactly what Ablett, Scully said.... who cares... completely different scenarios. All it is, Buddy wants to focus on footy... he will re-sign with the Hawks at the end of the season & I believe he is not trying to get more cash out of the Hawks, because he would know to keep this group together you can't ask for a huge payout. I hope his management & the Hawks can pull that offer figure down so we can add the likes of Taylor Adams, Adam Cooney or Colin Sylvia.

Ablett had a destination that has a good life style & is a rather good place. Also being named Captain. - Buddy's possible destination is a hole. Buddy & Ablett are two completely different people.

Scully played for Melbourne, not a Premiership contender, enough said. I would have made the change too, it's paid off for him so far cause Melbourne has gone backwards since & he has got the smell of success in the future to come.

I'm happy at Hawthorn I wanna stay.
I have just admitted that its a distraction but I don't care, I wanna concentrate on my football
its difficult for the club and me to concentrate on the football because of my contract situation.
Buddy, how can you concentrate on your football when everybody is asking and hounding you about your contract situation?

He's just a walking contradiction, and its bordering on dumb which currently best describes how he's currently playing on field.

Everyone??? The Media are you talking about?... the playing group doesn't.

I really think he wants to see if we can win the flag this year and will set himself to achieve that, don't think you can undestimate how much last year has cut him deep. I think if we fall short again this year then it will make it easier for both parties to part ways, hopefully with a deal to be done. He knows the money on offer from both sides, that s a given, what he wants is to win flags NOW. Win this year and he knows he has another in him at the Hawks in next one , two years.

Wouldn't it be easier to leave after winning a flag this year with Hawthorn? thus redeeming last year. Because if he does want flags he won't be getting any at GWS for another 4-5 years at least (if he's still around that is)

and we all know what happened with Cloke. Having these negotiations lingering over his head, and the club for the whole season affected his performance to the extent that he was creating brand damage for himself. Not saying that Buddy's doing the same, but my point is, if you want to stay, why not sign now? What is there to gain by hanging out if you know that the club has put in its best and final offer?

Maybe he's a man of his word
"It will get done at the end of the year"
Who knows, but it might just be as simple as that
Hawks may know already, just not official

I think he will stay now. Surely he wouldn't say that and then leave. He must just want more money out of us
