TBH I will be vert surprised if he plays again this year.

No inside knowledge, just a belief that foot factures can be very finicky things. Stick him in cotton wool I reckon
Especially since he’s only 20. Sure we’re pushing for finals this season, but long term NOD is going to be essential

Moderate grade hammy for Acres. Whatever that means. But not serious according to Bell. Good good.
Just going to ask the same thing.
It’s not Grade 1, is it? That’s just a strain.
I’m guessing Grade 2- partial tear? That’s good news, 3-4 weeks by the looks. The complete tear- Grade 3- is 2-3 + months.
Given it’s two weeks after Carlton, could be looking at being fit by round 16 or round 17.

You googled the same stuff I did - asked friends and family, and nobody seems to have a clue

Grade 2 will be 4 weeks minimum. If he is back playing in anything less than 5 or 6 weeks I'd be surprised.
Grade 2 is up to 8 weeks. Sounds like Grade 2 but on the lesser scale of Grade two (ie small tear). I’d be guessing but 4-6 weeks. I’m guessing Chapman’s was similar 4-6 weeks and he has served almost two weeks. Ryan Daniels said around 4 weeks for Chapman. So prob around another 3 weeks for him.

Bad news for NOD. Sounds like another 4 weeks off before being reassessed.

8 week grade twos normally involve the MT junction or have some tendinous involvement

I would hazard this fits more towards the lower 4-5 end of the scale

Where have you heard this news on NOD?

Switta with a back injury?

He had stress fractures in his back in 2020 for memory.

In the warm up on Saturday he pulled up short. He limped around for a while and spoke to the Physio but obviously played ( we were expecting him to be subbed to be honest). Hopefully not too bad.

Hope our treatment people do the right thing by Switta. In the Lyon era (touch wood) I seem to recall him constantly being affected by back probs (stress fracture I think) and yo-yoing in and out of games - mostly out.

Yeah, I have a lot more faith in our current medical people. He seemed to indicate his hip on Saturday but it’s probably all back related.

I'm happy for Blake (you know what I mean, to a degree - not happy he's injured but happy it's not long term..), or Blacres as I like to call him hehehe; to see how visibly upset he was fearing the worst shows just how much it means to him but not only that, the recognition of how much he's enjoying his football, feels like he's really contributing. Let's be honest guys like him and Colyer come to the club and most of us don't expect much, but each has shown they're best 22 contributers and have had stellar seasons under J-Lo, especially this year. Credit the coaching group as a whole, our squad really has little to no deadwood in my opinion, everyone has lifted their game and the system has got the most out of individuals most would question whether they should be first team selections. I know guys like Blakely and Banfield would be first out the door if fans here had control, but even Banners has made solid contributions here & there this season, 10 wins to 3 losses tells you that - we're doing a lot more right than wrong
Yep, couldn't agree more. It isn't your superstars that win you Premierships. Sure they help, and you do need them, but when your bottom 6 and beyond are playing like solid B players with the occaisional A creeping in, that's when you're contending. Credit to Longmuir and the coaching team, and of course the players themselves, for maximising their potential. Great to see.

There’s the emergency when you need it.
Hopefully nothing serious. Poor guy can’t get any luck of late

Duffield reported he was on crutches today. Is that normal for a back injury?

Sometimes but not often. Usually it's to decrease the pressure of your glutes and hamstrings etc to allow your back to have more chance of quick recovery. I wouldn't be surprised if he's also in the pool doing rehab for his days off.
