We have been able to draw conclusions on here that it was a (horrific) mistake and he was not actually hacked. But somehow some have not been able to connect the dots further to ascertain that she was not randomly chosen to send the pic too in the first place. There has to be some form of existing relationship there. So as much as the thought of Seyers junk might repulse many, I think we can safely assume in this instance that it was consensual/invited in some way. Therefore, until evidence comes to light to the contrary, I think this has very little impact on the Carlton Respects program.

Yeah but the fatal flaw in that argument is that he (allegedly) did not respect his wife, so IMHO it stands.

I really think people need to consider that being good at one thing, such as relationship management and self-promotion doesn't make you good at other related things, such as avoiding impulsive mistakes.

Unless I'm missing something about the situation, I don't think we can assume that the pics were consensual or invited, just because there may have been an existing relationship. He obviously would have relationships with people of a business/platonic nature.

Maybe it was as you described (perhaps there was an affair), but I don't think we can assume that just because they knew each other that she would have welcomed the pics. Plenty of women receive unsolicited and unwanted pics on social media.

If it was unsolicited, he’s a sexual harasser. If it was solicited, he’s just an insanely dumb operator.

Either disqualify him from being President.

But while I don't want to give him too much credit, we have to assume he has some ounce of business acumen and general level of smarts to get to his position in society. There are many layers to this issue/predicament such as his presidency, the Carlton Respects program, the fact that that the woman involved is an executive of a major sponsor. The silence is interesting as is the fact he hasn't reported it to the Police it AFL (at least its believed he hasn't reported it).

Correct but the point that it wouldn't have been a random act, if it was indeed Sayers, is valid. Two consenting adults can send each other whatever they like, whether its ethically correct to do so when the there is a working professional relationship is another issue. If it turns out that the DP was sent by Sayers (by mistake or otherwise), he is as dumb as dog shit and should stand down. If it was a hack, then it's all very unfortunate for all parties.

Not getting into a political to and fro, but getting sacked for unethical behaviour seems to be a thing of the past and that's a prime example. Sponsors and supporters can still pull the pin however.

To me it just proves how inept the Carlton Board has been and continues to be - when even a twit like Sayers can do a better job of getting better people in the right positions at Carlton than previous regimes were able to muster.

This is a transitional year as it is, with Cook handing the reigns over to an unproven CEO ( from Collingwood) and Voss under enormous pressure to produce something respectable with teh list he has - the quest to find a new Chairman probably has to be accelerated now - which means the risk of getting that decision wrong increases and whatever the timetable for new Chairman was going to be now has to accelerated...

Really poor way for Sayers to finish his term - and it is all on him and his silly midlife crisis acting.

There is definitely a bit of jest and banter going on here. But being the country we are we still follow the innocent until proven guilty mantra. I'm sure the necessary AFL, the club and other bodies will do the necessary checking etc and what comes of that who knows.

I'll admit it don't look good and would not be surprised if an early passing of the batton is done in the next couple of months.
