By then it might be Wingard.
Might be an idea to let him, you know, actually play a game before touting his captaincy credentials.

Bartel to still be playing in 2017?

There will be a few new captains in 2012, so I thought I'd look at who I think will be the captains in 5 years time.
Post your list
2017:
Adelaide: Richard Douglas
Brisbane: Jack Redden
Carlton: Marc Murphy
Collingwood: Scott Pendlebury
Essendon: Michael Hurley
Fremantle: Michael Barlow
Geelong: Joel Selwood
Gold Coast: David Swallow
GWS: Stephen Coniglio
Hawthorn: Jarryd Roughead
Melbourne: Jack Trengrove
North Melbourne: Andrew Swallow
Port Adelaide: Travis Boak
Richmond: Trent Cotchin
St Kilda: Ben McEvoy
Sydney: Daniel Hannebry
West Coast: Luke Shuey
Western Bulldogs: Ryan Griffen
Melbourne - Jack Grimes wouldn't suprise me either.
By then Andrew Swallow could well have handed over the captaincy (assuming he became captain in the first place) like Adam Simpson did the year before his last, or retired. He's 26 this year, by then he'll be 30-31 and winding down.
Haha, keep dreaming.Dangerfield will be wearing No. 30 at Geelong by then, living it up on the Surf Coast, and owning pubs and clubs in Geelong.
Swallow turns 25 in June this year LB.
Still think you are right though.
For the dogs, Mitch Wallis is known to have very strong leadership qualities and will definitelty come into consideration in future years. However given Boyd will be most likely be gone in a 2-3 years, Wallis (and any draftees from last year onwards) would probably be too young to take over by 2014-15.
There appears to be a bit of a gap in the dog's group at the minute for guys in the 22-27 age bracket who can slot into the position for at least a few years, so my best bet would have to be Griffen due to a lack of other obvious options.
You guys are in a bit of strife, A huge gap on the list like the saints
Haha, keep dreaming.
David Myers no certainty to even be on our list in 5 years.
Zaharakis would be the clear bookies favorite at this stage.
Waters if he can stay on the park
If it's not Murphy, then Jamison would be the next best choice. Kreuzer plays like a leader, but isn't that assertive in interviews. They nicknamed him Humphrey because he's so quiet.Carlton- I reckon Gibbs is a chance, was involved in the leadership there from very early.
Why would West Coast make him captain?
His attack on the ball is unquestionable but he is a turnover merchant by foot, perhaps the worst in their 22.
Perhaps you never saw Woosha play...
