Rumour Future of the club (Bevo, board, assistant coaches, football department)

I'm doubtful the club moves Bevo on.

So best case scenario.

The feedback he's been getting is the reality check that Bevo needed to have.

And any new assistant's we get have the balls to help him to pull his head out of his a**.

Take this with a grain of salt but heard from one of my mates at a real estate firm that Matt Spangher's resume ended up in his inbox this week.

I heard it was Alan Mance he applied to.

Reading tea leaves here, but I'm thinking coach and players might be aligned on something or someone. How 'm I doin'

If we are honest and without the rose tinted specs...if bevo stays and we don't have a review and turnover of the coaching staff where are we finishing next year?

Can confirm that Chris Grant is an unpopular figure amongst certain players and staff. He sacked Rohan Smith which has been a very unpopular move amongst some players and could explain the nearly protest vote performances against West Coast and Hawks.

The only problem is he might be unpopular because he’s dishing out the discipline that is required. Might be trying to lift standards because he knows Bevvo can’t / won’t.

Bit late for that I would have thought.

I don’t know why Bubba has been singled out, for a period during the year our backline functioned reasonably well, until Jones went down followed by JJ and Red, not his fault.

What exactly about the conduct of the club over the last 12+ months makes you confident it will be done properly?
Nothing over the last 12 months, but more so the past 12+++ years. Our coach changeovers alaways seem more dramatic than other clubs.

Wheelers sacking was completely stupid, when do clubs sack a pretty successful coach after two rounds.

Then we get Joyce. Fair enough with his successful experience, but the failure actually makes a movie.

Then Wallace. A normal coach sacking we turn into a drama because he can’t coach a last game.

Then the McCartney thing, totally embarrassing. My phone was actually running hot with footy friends asking what the hell is going on at your club.

And now we have some bloke trying to recreate our historic drama queen culture, and he’s being thanked.

Try hard rumour mongers do create a mess.
They also try to clean it up afterwards.
VD's intel is as solid as it gets, just wish he woudn't ****-tease us, I get enough of that at home.

I'm assuming VD was referring to Cameron in his original post about an experienced assistant. And now that Fronk has doubled down on it and named Cameron, he has reminded us of his original post.

Good point.
Very interesting few weeks ahead

Agreed we don't have the greatest record although the above series of descriptions isn't completely accurate, plus it misses out a few coaches. that we parted with reasonably painlessly.

Wallace walked out; he wasn't sacked. He didn't get a grandstand send off because no-one was happy with him walking out the way he did, especially the players reportedly.

The only embarrassing bit about the 'McCartney thing' was that it took the board years to discover what should have been apparent six months in, if not earlier. The bloke hardly put a foot right from the moment he took the job. He really should have been shown the door at the end of his first season in charge. A completely disastrous appointment whose main skill seemed to be an ability to convince others that he wasn't to blame for his failures.

The current situation is an embarrassment for those tantruming supporters and media calling for the head of the most successful coach we have ever had just two years on from a GF appearance, and when we are still a chance to sneak into the finals.
